[Our focus now goes to Nasira, who's carving up innocent air particles in the stern of the boat. The night sky sparkles with starts now that the air is clear of fog. Meanwhile, the book talk in the captain's cabin is concluding. So what will happen next?] [Mini session start.] * Nasira is slicing through the sky with beautiful, deadly strokes. If it could actually be hurt, you can bet that sky would be dead by now. Every once in a while, her knife or saif will heat with a molten glow only to die again, leaving a trail of light in the air. * Shan comes out of the captain's cabin, arms folded in her robe. Her eyes sparkle briefly. If the sky can do it, so can she. * Nasira's nonexistent left eye is currently to Shan, and she doesn't seem to notice as her knife flashes out and on an angle, slicing an invisible foe. * Shan walks to a safe distance and stops, watching Nasira. After a few minutes, she clears her throat. * Nasira whirls to face Shan, weapons ready. She freezes for a moment, then lowers them. "Hey, boss." * Shan nods. "Nasira. I'd like to talk with you." * Nasira grins. "Well, you're off to a good start." * Nasira twirls her knife once, sheathing it. She continues to hold the saif loosely. You don't sound particularly upset about my earlier actions. I'm rather surprised. * Nasira shrugs. You think she's worth saving. I can respect that. * Shan blinks, unfolding her arms. "I'm surprised. I came out here to apologize and explain myself, and you seem to understand already." * Nasira grins. "I'm crazy. And I'm not the brains of this ship - we've got three better people for that - but I'm not completely stupid." Can't see why you'd want to apologize to a madwoman, anyway. A friend is a friend, mad or no. * Nasira nods. "Okay. Wanna go through the apology anyway, or are we gonna skip that part?" * Shan turns to look at the moon. "In my country, we also have duels to the death, fought for honor. Maybe that's your reason, maybe you just want to kill Naiya for being who she is. Either way, I wanted to make it known that, should you decide to take her life, I will not stop you." * Nasira nods. All I ask is that you do it when she is of no use to me. * Nasira raises an eyebrow. What's she doing that's so useful now? Helping us get the ship to port. * Nasira snickers. "Yeah, all right." When we get there, by all means, settle your dispute if you see fit You got it, then. I'll wait for your go ahead. * Nasira frowns suddenly. "But I probably won't kill her anyway." * Shan raises an eyebrow. "Oh?" Yeah. Change of heart? * Nasira sweeps her saif in an arc. "No. I hate her more than ever." Then why? If I may ask. Because I- * Nasira stops, then shakes her head. "Because, in a lot of ways, she's too pathetic to kill." * Shan blinks. "Well, I won't deny she's pathetic." * Nasira rolls her eye. To be honest, I wonder if all Zaxons are. Everything I've heard about them has proven to be true so far." Yeah, with the whining and sad eyes and the armor and all. I don't know *what* she's trying to do. * Shan nods. (Hey, there was Valen! He was nice!) ( Who? @_@ ) And she might be useful now, boss, but if she doesn't stop bothering me, she's going to get hurt. I won't kill her. But I'll make her wish she were dead. (Lilith's right hand man. ^^;) ( Oh, right. He was nice. ^^ It's mostly the bitchy whiney females that aren't. ) That's quite alright with me. In my country, she undoubtedly would have gotten herself and her entire family executed by now. * Nasira smirks. "Yeah? I should hang out in Chu-Lin more. Sounds like a fun place when I'm not locked in a cell." However... Oh, heck. The cell was fun, too. Hurting her will not teach her any lesson, you understand? She's not the type to learn from her mistakes. Nah, but it'd make me feel better. (We're not nice people.) ( I am. ^^ She just doesn't deserve to be nice to :P ) (Since when? :P) ( Last night, for starters. >.> ) * Shan nods. "Well, then." * Nasira nods. "Yeah." And then she smiles. "So, apology accepted." * Shan smiles. "Thank you." * Nasira looks up to see the stars, identifying the one that shines in the north. Gotta wonder why you're picking my friendship over much more stable people, though. * Shan smiles. "Because I trust you more than I trust them, obviously." * Nasira snickers. "You trust me to fall down cliffs and run headlong into burning buildings." More than I would trust Virgil or Naiya, yes. Nah, I think Naiya'd run into a burning building if nobody stopped her. And probably get me killed doing it. * Nasira snaps her fingers. That's it! You trust me because you're not dead yet. I... guess you could put it that way. In part. * Nasira looks over to Shan with a grin. "If that's all it takes, you're going to be trusting me for the rest of your days. That could be a mistake." Oh? Did I make a mistake, then? * Shan smiles. "You needn't worry. I have experience with knowing who I can count on, and how far. I work in the government, remember?" Yeah, and at least one person in that government got his robe sliced off. Although... This reminds me. Inside, Virgil and Naiya asked about the purpose of my journey. I did not tell them. I ask that you do the same. * Nasira blinks. "Sure. Why not?" Because they are Zaxon, and they've made it clear their people can't be trusted with matters of national security. I guess you'd know better than me. * Shan nods. "I am not free to live the ideal life where a world of racism does not exist. Though I try to be open ended, I must keep in mind what is good for my country above all else." Hey, you're the government official. I'm just a hired thug. If I can't trust the Zaxons I know, how can I trust their country? Even if it's a trivial thing that they would learn, who knows how Zaxon might use the information? * Nasira nods. "Right. That makes as much sense as anything else." * Shan nods. "I must ask Enzo not to tell them either." If you don't want him to, you should probably do that. * Shan nods. "I feel Enzo is trustworthy as well." And to be honest, I'm lucky to have encountered you and him on this journey. It is a lot harder for those of us in power to find reliable people than you might think. * Shan shakes her head. "But perhaps I am talking to much. I will go see Enzo." * Nasira laughs. "Sure. I'll reliably go back to practicing carving that fire guy a new face if I see him again." * Shan nods. "By all means. It's not as though I don't have enough enemies." 'Salright, boss. I'll get you more. * Shan cups her chin. "And that man... I don't know him, but this all seems vaguely familiar..." She shakes her head. "But there's no use in speculating without more information. I'll go see Enzo now. Good night." * Shan wanders below decks! * Nasira waves Shan off, then unsheathes her knife in a flash of steel. She looks up to the moon for a long minute before going back to practice. [Nasira stabs the MOON! Night is dead. ;_; Session end.]
