[Enzo is going for a morning stroll along the coast! Or is it an afternoon stroll. He's lost all track of time because he's wandering. The waves crash up against the cliffside and it looks like it's going to be a bright sunny day.] [A seagull flies over his head a few ways and the normal sounds of the birds on the Maltan coast come forth on the breeze. Enzo's passing by a small cove that the waves crash into about now. A bleached white sandy beach is a few steps down from the hill he's going over.] [Intro Start.] * Enzo hums to himself as he wanders, pack slung over his shoulder. He's got cheekbone-length long hair, dark brown and matching his eyes. His skin is is slightly tanned, and his features have a very uncertain look to him; whether that's a personal characteristic or a racial one is debatable, as his race seems indeterminate. [Go Enzo. You wander well. And just in time to see a small rowboat floating up onto shore. With, hmm, no one rowing it.] * Enzo stops humming for a second and tilts his head at the boat, ambling closer to have a li'l look-see. [Inside the raft is a person! Eek. Well, fortunately they don't look like they're dead, but they don't look too hot either. The woman is wearing partial metal armor with a crest on it.] [Enzo recognizes the crest immediately. It's....something that was on his toys when he was young! Ah precious childhood memories.] ( I gotta stop playing with Seg so much. His "torture own PCs" thing is starting to rub off. ) ( ... ano. ) * Enzo grins at the sight of the crest, then frowns again as the woman's condition becomes a little more apparent. "Uh...excuse me?" * Enzo wanders right up to the boat and taps it with a foot. "Ma'am?" [The woman is floating with a pack in the back of the boat. Seems she wasn't left completely abandoned.] * Naiya dosen't respond immediately. The tap seems to have had some effect, because she's mumbling to herself. * Naiya is kinda pretty! She's got short brown hair, that would be curly if it weren't messed up and in need of combing at the moment, and she has a light tan. * Naiya is wearing armor, too. It's interesting armor; besides the crest on the front, theres alternating stripes stenciled into the sides, and a rather ornate ornamental wing, just one, on it's back. It almost looks real. * Naiya squints, and opens her eyes, looking around fuzzily. They're black... and they somehow give the impression that something's bothering her. The effect fades somewhat, but not completely, as she catches sigh of Enzo. [A bird lands on the side of the boat. It's looking at you both curiously. If birds have curiousity.] * Enzo grins as he sees the lady's eyes open. "Hi, ma'am. Are you all right?" ( DUCK! ;-; Wah, Garibaldi. ) * Naiya blinks, and glances around, staring at the water for a moment. "... yeah." Er, not to doubt you, but are you sure? You didn't look so good... * Enzo pulls the boat more firmly ashore as he speaks, to make sure it stays. [And thus Enzo foils the GM's plan to make Naiya lost at sea forever. Drat.] ( D'oh. ) * Naiya hugs herself tightly, then stands as the boat becomes more stable, stepping off. She nods. "I seem to be alright... I've felt better, but thank Fiona for getting off this easy." Who do I have to thank for rescuing me? Huh? Rescue? Well, the boat I guess. You woulda been in a lot of trouble if it wasn't there. * Naiya laughs softly. "I'll be sure to thank the boat, too. But I was more referring to who you were? I'm Naiya." Oh! Sorry. I'm Enzo Brennan. * Enzo holds out his hand politely. Nice to meet you, Naiya. * Naiya accepts the offered handshake. "So... where are we?" Malta. Near Port Rio. Where are you from, Naiya? If I can ask? * Naiya hesitates a moment, thinking. "I ... guess it's no harm to answer. Zaxon. At least... I was from there." Oh. * Naiya steps back onto the boat, checking her stuff, rummaging through it till she withdraws a book. She flips through it, before breathing a sigh of relief. * Enzo tilts his head again. "Something wrong?" * Naiya turns back to Enzo. There's that sad look again, for a moment. She tilts her head, flipping her hair into a semblance of neatness. "There's always something wrong." And no... before you ask, I doubt it's anything you can help with. * Enzo looks a little taken aback. "Um, okay?" I was actually gonna ask if you needed help with your things. Where are you going? This is Malta? *thinks* Actually, I could hang around here for a little bit. * Enzo looks a little uncertain, shifting from one foot to the other as he waits for Naiya's response. * Naiya finishes gathering the rest of her stuff, organzing it in a bag, which she straps to a shield. * Naiya looks down for a moment, then back up. "Actually... if you don't mind. Do you have anything to eat?" * Enzo pats his pockets absently. "Er, not much besides travel rations...I bet you could get something to eat at Port Rio, though!" I think we could get there by lunchtime. Maybe. * Enzo ehes and scratches his head abashedly. "Sorry. Bad sense of time." * Naiya widens her eyes a bit, smiling. "That sounds great. And, to be honest... I'm still disoriented, so I really don't know what time it is myself." She bites her lip, then smiles again. * Enzo nods. "Okay then, let's go!" (Those crazy kids.) * Enzo waits for Naiya, then heads back in the direction that he came from. * Naiya stares at the ocean for a moment, then turns back. "If you'd be so kind as to lead the way?" * Enzo looks back. "Huh? Oh, sorry. This way." * Enzo heads off in the direction from whence he came. [Those crazy kids head all the way to Port Rio. The sun is high in the sky so it might be noon. Hopefully.] [Port Rio, for its credit, is a helluva town and seems bustling with activity. The marble arch which leads into the city is nothing compared to the cobblestone paths that weave through the buildings.] [There seems to be a town square of some sorts in the center. Stalls are lined up all around the exterior, as some entertainment, dancers in this case, goes on in the city center.] * Enzo almost forgets about Naiya as he looks around at things it seems he missed the first time around. * Naiya looks around, taking in the sights. "Is it always like this here?" Ummm...I'm not sure. I haven't been here for very long. * Naiya looks around for a resteraunt, or other food-type place. * Enzo politely joins Naiya in the search. [Enzo notices something strange. A small scrawny little boy running through the crowd hurriedly away from them. With a small pouch. And Enzo knows he still has his money pouch on him sooo...] * Enzo blinkblinks. "Hey, Naiya." * Naiya looks over at Enzo. "Yes?" * Enzo points at the boy and the pouch the little rascal's carrying. "Isn't it weird for that kid to be running around with that bag? He looks like he's in an awful hurry. I wonder why?" * Naiya bites her lip, checking her own possessions. [Naiya is minus one money pouch.] * Naiya sighs resignedly. "This'll be something to write home about." Well, I didn't think it was *that* odd. Just kind of, y'know. Weird. * Naiya stands on her toes for a second, getting a better look briefly, and then gives chase! * Enzo glances around. "Anyway, I'm sure there are lots of places in Port Rio that are op-uh?" Uhh...Naiya? * Enzo kind-of chases after, looking kinda confused. That was MY pouch! * Enzo blinks. "Oh!" [Naiya maneuvers through the throngs of people. They don't seem to be paying attention. Enzo makes his way through much more easily. * Enzo runs after then. [The scraggy urchin boy looks behind him and eeps, ducking through an alleyway.] * Enzo skids to a stop and looks around for intersecting alleys/streets. * Naiya ducks through that alleyway too, not willing to lose sight of him. "I need that!" [Enzo finds an intersecting alleyway and ducks through! Naiya meanwhile chases from the back. The urchin boy hops over the crates away.] * Enzo tries to intersect Mr. Busyfingers' path. [Enzo manages to appear at the other end of the alleyway. The boy skids to a stop and slowly backs up. Not quite to Naiya yet but she's closing on him.] * Enzo waves at the boy. "Hi there." ( Any hideyholes around between me'n'Naiya that the boy could duck out through? ) (Nope. He's pretty trapped) ( Okay, good. ) [The boy staggers back, looking at Enzo with a look of shock, dismay, incredulousness, take your pick. "H--hi."] * Enzo continues talking to the boy. "Nice day, isn't it? I like sunny days, they're so cheerful. Usually." Excuse me. I'm not sure how Maltans greet newcomers, but I'm certain that taking their money isn't a good way to start off on good terms. Uh-huh. What's the ironhead doing here? * Enzo shrugs. "She said she was hungry, so I was takin' her to find something to eat." Oh, that reminds me. Is it okay if you give her her money back? * Naiya adopts a look of mock-offense. "The 'ironhead' was going to get something to eat with that money, because she's hungry." You can come with us afterwards if you like. [The boy whips around on Naiya and glares at her. Glare. >.> It'd be more intimidating if he weren't, y'know, a little kid. "I don't have to explain myself to you, Zaxon pig." He spits in Naiya's general direction then turns back towards Enzo. "Why are you protecting her?"] Huh? * Enzo looks confused. "I thought her armor was protecting her." * Naiya smiles. "Feel free to join us if you're ..." The smile falters. * Boy looks up at Enzo. "Fine. Catch!" He tosses him the money pouch. High. * Enzo looks up and moves to where the pouch is probably going to come down, holding out a hand to catch it when it falls. [Enzo catches the pouch in one hand. In fact, he's concentrating so much on the catching that he doesn't notice the boy bullrushing him and ducking under his arm, scrambling past.] * Naiya holds one hand out, in a futile attempt to get him to stop running away. "Hey! Wait!" [Around the corner of the alleyway though, there's an oof.] * Enzo whirls when he realizes what the kid did. "Uh...have a nice day?" * Enzo hands Naiya the pouch, assuming there's still money in it. * Naiya walks forward cautiously at the 'oof', tucking the money pouch away. [Naiya's money is just fine. And the boy appears around the corner of the alley again. Err, except he's struggling, dangling in the air by his shirt. Which is being held up by a fairly large tanned man, shaved bald. He looks at both of you. "Well well. Looks like you've been getting into trouble AGAIN today, eh, Domingo?"] ( Domingo! Best name EVAR! ) * Segev is now known as Sleepmancer * Enzo blinks at the man. "My name's not Domingo, it's Enzo. And hers is Naiya." Awww, shaddup ol' man. Cantcha see I'm workin' here? * Naiya looks at the man. "Does he do this a lot?" *points at Domingo* When there's a crowd, yes. Oh I apologize, where are my manners? My name is Hugo. And you are...? Naiya. * Enzo nods, not bitter about the man's lapse in hearing his earlier introduction. "My name is Enzo Brennan. Pleased to meet you, Hugo." Interesting name. Vithril is it? No, not Vithril. Zaxon? * Naiya closes her eyes briefly at 'Vithril', and nods at Zaxon. I'm sorry if he caused trouble. He's like that. If there's anything I can do to make it up to you... Ya don't hafta make it up to HER. She's a Zaxon ironheaded pig-dog! That's wha-- * Hugo smacks him on the head at that statement. Ow! What was that for? * Enzo tilts his head. "Well, maybe you could get him something to eat. He looks pretty hungry, maybe that's why he did that." * Naiya taps her pouch. "No permanent loss. There's nothing to make up." And maybe you could show us someplace that has good food. * Enzo thumbs at Naiya. "She's hungry too." * Naiya eyes widen, remembering that part. "Yes! I don't know the area well, and I was wondering if there was anyplace you'd recommend for a good meal." Mmm... You are pretty forgiving souls. I'll make sure that he sees the errors of his ways...but first... I could do that. Sure you can afford it? * Naiya waves her hands. "I'll pay. It's the least I can do for the one who found me." *points at Enzo* "And you're welcome to come along too." *looks at Hugo* * Enzo holds up his hands. "Oh, you really don't have to! I'm fine!" No it's alright. Though if you're looking for work, I hear that the Trade Council is looking for some steady sailors. Might check into it. * Naiya chuckles at Enzo. "If you say so." * Hugo eyes Enzo again. "It might help you get out of those rags there, no offense." * Enzo looks down at his clothes, confused. "What's wrong with my clothes? I don't get it..." * Hugo waves it off. "Nothing nothing. If you'll excuse me, I've got to get this runt back to the ship. Maybe we'll run into each other later. Who knows?" * Naiya kneels down, and looks straight at Domingo. "I'm sorry if you've gotten the wrong impression about Zaxon, but we of Fiona are far from 'ironheaded pig- dogs'." She smiles warmly, and pats him on the head. Oh, okay. ...ship? Who are you with, if I can ask? [Naiya pulls her hand away before Domingo's teeth clasp down on her hand. He puffs out his mouth and looks up at her glaring as Hugo drags him away.] * Enzo blinks. "That wasn't very nice...." * Enzo waves after Hugo and Domingo. "Have a nice day!" * Naiya blinks, watching them leave. There's that sad, bothered look again, breifly. * Hugo waves back before they go out of sight. * Enzo shrugs. "Well, that was interesting." * Enzo looks earnestly at Naiya. "You really should keep your pouch better hidden, though. Some people aren't very nice." ( And he didn't tell us where to get food! ;_; ) ( ^_^ ) * Enzo looks around. "So...let's find you someplace to get food, then." * Enzo lead-wanders off to find just such a place. * Naiya nods, and moves the pouch into the inside of the shield, with the rest of her stuff. [So the two new acquaintances wandered to find some food. Yay for food. Did they find any? Find out next time on the next exciting episode of Seekers.] [Session End.]
