[Naiya heads out on the road! There are random passerbys passing by!] * Naiya looks around for the nearest one-faith-fits-all temple-type thing! (One faith fits all? What do you think this world has, Unitarians?) ( Next best thing. Choclate Malts. ) [It doesn't take Naiya too long walking down the main road to figure that they don't really have a major place of worship here.] * Naiya looks for a minor one, then! Fiona, Fiona, where art thou? [Naiya doesn't find a temple just yet. But she does find Kidd! He's finished hanging up one of the signs. It's similar to the wanted poster he showed earlier and has Drake's charming picture on it. "Phew, that's done." He turns and tips his fingers to Naiya. "Greetings!"] * Naiya returns the greeting. "Salutations." * Kidd grins. "You missed a helluva show last night." * Naiya eyes glaze over for a moment with sadness. "... only yours." "Eh?" ... it's nothing. * Naiya puts the bright smile back on. "You seem to be enjoying your work." "Yeaaaaah. Work." * Kidd sighs and wipes his brow. "Y'know. This is the most boring part of it all." Ah, but there's an air of expectant enthusiasm about you as you do this... * Naiya smiles, and shakes her head. "Like you're looking forward to the next step." * Kidd shrugs. "It's a duty. Just like any other. Mostly in the business for my uncle." That aside... I'm looking for someone. Perhaps you may have seen her? * Naiya quickly describes Filis. * Kidd thinks for a little bit. "Yeah..." He says hesitantly. "Yeaaah...I remember someone like that. Kinda pale, right?" * Naiya nods. * Kidd points in a southerly direction. "I think she got an early start walking. She was heading towards the shopping district." * Naiya does a little bow. "Thank you. ... and, if I may ask, who's on the poster, and what did he do?" * Kidd glances at the poster. "That? You don't know Drake Finning? The Torrey Junket's famous among the north seas." You're hanging up a lot of those. Did he offend your group personally, or is this on behalf of Dunlor? "Dunlor. He stole some private documents from the Grand Library." Ah... from a library, no less. * Kidd shakes his finger. "Not just A library. Dunlor's GRAND Library. Those things aren't easy to come by." * Naiya clucks her tongue. "What an awful thing to do... stealing from that which is supposed to be free for all." * Kidd coughs into his hand. "Yes...well...these were...as I said...private documents. The public has not yet gotten a chance to review them." * Naiya takes a good, close look at the poster. "A shame." * Naiya flashes a charming smile of her own at Kidd, and bows. "Thank you, but I had best be on my way before I lose trail of my friend completely." It was a pleasure to meet you, and I hope to see your show tonight. * Kidd chuckles. "Not tonight...he said he wanted to run one at noon. He's hoping to sell half his stock. Personally, I think that's far reaching, but you never know..." Oh, noon? I shall try for that, then. Until then... * Naiya turns, and starts trotting off southerly, clanking al the while. [Naiya finds the shopping district. Where she finds shops! Who would have thunk it? General supplies, cobblers, tailors, magic supplies, antiques, arms, you name it.] * Naiya looks ar- ANTIQUES. THERE. SO THERE. [Naiya goes to the antique store! Gosh, it's sooo OLLLLLD!] * Naiya looks around, in the off chance she can add to the set of one that she has already. * Naiya also looks for anything else interesting. Cuz. Ya'know. Who knows what some of this stuff actually -is-. [Naiya manages to find a lot of old knickknacks. There's a counter up front with a bell that says "ring for service". On top of that, some things seem genuinely useful. There's an old sextant, compasses, some old maps, and some artifacts.] [Naiya sees a couple of things that look real neat. Lamps and oils from Caladeem, swords and armor from Vithril...they look old, but she can't really tell the real value of any of this.] [There are some ships in a bottle on the counter as well.] * Naiya 's eyes glaze over a bit at the Caladeem artifacts, then she shakes her head, and rings the bell, and goes to examine the maps while waiting. [Naiya is greeted by the clump clump from the back room. Soon enough, an old crone of a woman, hunched over from age, white of hair and walking with cane and shawl, heads up to the counter. She looks over Naiya appraisingly.] * Naiya nods respectfully to the woman. "Hello. These maps... how old are they?" [She looks up at Naiya appraisingly and says in a crackly voice, "Welll... it depends on which one you're looking at. These ones here..." She points to a few tattered ones. "Are about, oh, 300 years.... some are a little newer than that. This one here still shows the old Vithril territories..." She points to an old, crusty one, barely legible. * Naiya peers closer at the OLD one. "... fascinating. How much for it... or perhaps a copy?" ["Oh that...oh I couldn't part with that for less than....oh, one thousand?"] * Naiya frowns. "... permission to make a copy, then?" [The old woman eyes Naiya carefully. "You have got to be joking..."]
