* Filis is staring at particularly interesting planks in the side of the hull. Hello planks! She's avoided looking at the scrying pool since her last outburst. I guess... Maybe there is a way I can talk to them. Can you get me a couple books from the shelves, Filis? * Filis snaps up and glances at Virgil, out of her reverie. "Hmm? Oh. Oh yes." She goes over to the book shelves, calling out. "Which ones?" Sorcery of the Winds (Vol. II) and The Magic of the Mind, please. * Filis goes about being Virgil's personal librarian. In a few minutes she comes back with two thick volumes. * Virgil puts them both face-down and opens them to various pages, glancing through as he keeps most of his concentration on the scrying spell in place. * Filis tries to read over his shoulder. "What is this?" I'm thinking of using the wind to convey my voice. * Filis blinks. "Interesting. You can try that?" It might work. In theory. You mean you've never tried it before? () Of course not, I've never needed to. * Virgil motions and murmers a few incantations. He opens the door and windows to let the wind in, allowing wind to flow in freely. "Here's to hoping this works." [Now that they've moved/split, which is Virgil keep his focus on?] (The ones going places. I can go back to the other one if I need to, can't I? Or at least try?) [The wind flows in. The creaking of the boat can really be heard right now...] * Virgil murmurs and keeps casting, idly closing the books nearby so they don't get flapped around. * Filis watches Virgil warily. She backs away from the streams of the wind so as not to disturb him. * Virgil finishes casting, standing at the table where the crystal ball and water bowl are. * Virgil speaks normally, but his voice echoing a bit. "Hello? Can you hear me?" Wow, this DOES work. Fine work and all, by the way. I'd join you, looks like you took a beating, but I don't even have the slightest clue where you are. * Filis watches as Virgil talks, eyes wide. "Neat. Can I talk on it too?" Yes, speaking of that, did you find anything in town? Any supplies at all? And yes I can. It's a bit taxing, though, I don't know how much longer I can keep this up. That shrine's a very important archeological find. Be careful! Uh... I'm not sure. Why don't you try? * Filis clears her throat and leans in towards the wind. "Ahem. Hello? Can you hear me?" [Sadly her voice doesn't seem to carry.] * Filis leans forward more. "Hello? Hello?" When it's obvious it doesn't get through (or they're ignoring her) she pouts and settles back. Sorry. I'll see about getting it to work with others after I have some more time. [Just then the boat starts to rock. It's not much at first, but then it really starts sloshing. The sloshing motion makes large ripples in the scrying pool, making it very hard to see.] Could you see what that is, Filis? * Filis tries to steady herself against the rocking until it steadies a bit. When she can time it, she nods to Virgil and gingerly tries to step out towards the deck. [Filis comes back. She's blinking as she gets back in. "Someone else is docking here." By this time, the whole scrying pool is back to being normal water. The Wind spell may or may not still be in effect, but the wind is still blowing.] * Virgil cuts off the scrying spell. "They're heading back anyways. What colors was the other ship flying?" Um... I couldn't tell... gold and black? [Virgil recognizes those, he thinks. Unless it's an unknown tribe, it's probably Dunlorian.] Oh, great, Dunlorians. [Session End.]
