[Virgil is here in the safety of the boat!  Lucky him, considering what he just 
saw.  He hasn't focused the scrying pool on the captain yet, but that magic 
definitely got his attention.]
[Filis' eyes widen a bit at it too.  The attack just came out of the blue.]
[Session Start.]
<Virgil> Mmm, something's making his spells stronger.  Like a lens of sorts...
[Filis peers at the spot. "Are you sure?  What's going on?"
<Virgil> Pretty positive.  Let me change the view a little.
* Virgil motions and brings the view around to get a better shot of the captain.
[And Virgil focuses on the pirate captain.  He looks...rotten...old.  But has an 
odd glow to his eyes.  How much of the scenery is he trying to get in?]
<Virgil> (Some.  No close-ups here.)
[Virgil manages to catch the canyon walls.  He's holding a pretty standard quad-
shot pistol in his hand.  He looks pretty sturdy for a zombie and is dressed, 
although in rags, like he was someone important in life.]
[He also sees... Nasira jumping into the scene.]
[Shan also comes onto his scene too.  Filis just looks at that. "Is that... such 
a good idea?"]
<Virgil> Probably not.  They do that a lot.
<Filis> I...see.
* Filis frowns. "What caused them to act like this?"
<Virgil> They've always been that way as far as I can tell.
<Filis> I meant the captain.
<Virgil> ...  Oh, him?  I'm not sure.
<Virgil> I mean, I'm sure he wasn't always an undead-captain-thing.
<Virgil> I'm positive he wasn't.  Kinda ruins the definition of undead.
<Filis> I didn't mean to suggest that.
[Virgil notices a little soft glow around the pirate's wounds.  Lore (Magic) 
check]
[Virgil recognizes the spell.  It's an earth-connected spell.  It provides mild 
regeneration so long as the caster is attached to the earth.]
<Virgil> Mmm, interesting.
<Filis> Mmm?
<Virgil> That spell he's using.  Not very strong but it'll keep him standing 
longer as long as he's touching the ground.
* Filis eyes the pool. "... Do they know this?"
<Virgil> I doubt it.  And there's no way I can tell them either.
<Filis> We... can't get to them in time?
<Virgil> I really doubt it.  I'm not very fast, and we have no clue where the 
heck they are.
* Filis frowns. "So all we can do is sit here..."
<Virgil> Unless you can send them messages or something.
* Filis shakes her head. "Not that I know of..."
* Virgil frowns. "This doesn't look good."
* Filis pushes closer, almost shoving Virgil out of the way. "What?  What?"
<Virgil> Hey, not so hard.
* Filis draws back a little.  "Sorry..."
<Filis> But what happened?
<Virgil> Nasira got banged up really badly.
<Filis> The Caladeem woman?
* Virgil nods.
* Filis sighs. "I want... I want to go.  We should have gone."
<Virgil> Hmmm...
