[Greetings pirates and piratesses. Today's Seekers is brought to you with the thought of love and happiness. After experiencing all hell breaking loose, the crew lay down in a field of flowers and spread peace and love across the seven seas.] [None of that actually really happened. On to our real story...] ( Damn straight. We don't need love, we need order! ) ( We don't need love, we need Fiona! ) [Our crew finds themselves on the edge of a desperate cliffside canyon (well, more like a deep impression) inland from the Maltan town of Forthswith. After pursuing the potential cause of the zombie uprising, they came to their old friend, the zombie pirate captain. Who seems just a little more deadly then the rest of his brethren.] [He stands at the bottom of the cliff, after almost slamming Naiya with stones. And he isn't looking like he wants to be friends. So it looks like a fight may be in order.] [Session start and initiative rolls.] [A note on the surroundings: as the canyon's been going along, it's been getting progressively deeper. It's about 20 meters deep right now. There looks like there's enough footholds to get down climbing with effort though.] [Nasira's turn.] ( She jumps. ON ITS HEAD. ) * Nasira looks back at the portal, then turns her attention away to the zombie captain. She's shaking, and her bloody saif is still in her hand. She runs towards the end of the canyon and yells, throwing it downwards at the zombie captain with a rush of wind. [The portal has all but disappeared by now. All that's left is the bloody streak on the ground.] [The Guided Blade tears through the air and hovers horizontally towards its target. The pirate captain takes a chunk out of its side, spewing putrid greenish liquid out of its wounds. It snarls at Nasira. "Defillllersssss..."] [Naiya's turn] * Naiya blinks, and starts running back the OTHER way. AGAIN. To where the portal was. She pulls out her pistol as she does so, and stops for just long enough to blast it in the direction of the undead zombie pirate. [The bullet takes a lovely chunk out of the opposite canyon wall. Unfortunately, no pirate is attached to it.] * Nasira glares at the pirate thing, catching her sword as it flies back to her. [Pirate captain pulls out a pistol from his belt and fires at...] [Naiya! But the shot goes just as wide as Naiya's.] [Shan's turn.] * Shan holds a hand over the edge of the canyon, and her arm, wrapped in lightning, keeps the area around the captain illuminated. * Shan looks down at the captain calmly. So much for being afraid of the undead. She doesn't even seem to mind the height difference, either. [Meanwhile, it's Nasira's turn!] * Nasira narrows her eyes, still running to the edge. She judges the distance down, then jumps. No, seriously! She jumps, saif in both hands and glowing with an orange-red edge, bringing it down on the zombie of a captain. (You know who's insane? I am!) [The captain sees Nasira leaping down and raises up his pistol to block. The molten blade cleaves right through the pistol and into his shoulder. He hisses and staggers back, holding his wound and glaring at Nasira.] * Shan stares at Nasira as she goes down. Then she sighs heavily, and jumps down after, aiming a kick at the captain's chest. [Nasira also manages to roll with the impact. It still looks like the landing hurt, though. Her legs probably are complaining.] [The captain is ready this time and crouches down. Shan flies over but manages to roll with the impact. She's still hurting too. Ugh. * Shan calculated this into her plan, though! [The captain looks at them, holding his wounds and his eyes glow. He pulls out one saber...then a scimitar out. He crosses them in front of him and holds them out in front of him towards Nasira.] * Nasira rolls to her feet and into a crouch, saif in one hand. She grins crazily at the captain. [Nasira probably shouldn't have stayed in a crouch. The blades glow and the ground rises up around Nasira's legs suddenly. Crushing pain fills her ankles and she finds that she can't move very well. The rock is holding her legs firm.] * Nasira grimaces and tries to move, failing utterly. The grin's gone, and she glares at him. [Sorry. Naiya's turn should have been before that. Go Naiya!] * Naiya waits a moment before realizing she's lost it's attention. She goes to remedy that, tucking her gun away, and changing the direction of her running yet again to the edge of the cliff- and over it. [Naiya just...doesn't land well. She hears a crunch sound that doesn't sound good at all.] * Naiya gives out a weak cry, and kneels down for a moment, focusing past the pain on reloading. ( It's all your fault, Nassy. >_> ) (Not my fault you're a lemming.) [Shan's turn.] * Shan rushes over to Nasira, throwing a stomping kick at the stalagmites holding her. "Tyaaaaah!" [Shan stomps on the stalagmites. They start to crack but still hold.] [Nasira's turn.] * Nasira grimaces. She shifts her grip on her saif, and it starts to glow hot again. She slams it down and through, trying to slice her way out. [Nasira manages to cut her way loose of the stalagmites, but her legs still feel kind of numb. Must be an after effect.] * Nasira shakes her legs out, crumbling bits of rock and gravel falling to the ground. She fixes her gaze on the captain. [Naiya's turn] * Naiya limps forward, stopping again to aim and shoot. She sounds somewhat... angry. "You are a disgrace! In the name of Fiona, return to your old life and Begone!" She pulls the trigger at 'Begone'. [Naiya's righteous fury takes itself out the rock face again. Hey look! That bullet and the other are twins!] * Naiya isn't deterred by her lack of aim at all. She must be used to it by now. [The captain gazes coldly at Naiya and slashes, first with one blade, then the other. The second whiffs over by a hairsbreadth, but the first one...] [The first one clangs against her shield and rings out through the canyon. Seems that hunk of metal actually IS good for something.] [The captain looks irritated. Shan's turn.] * Shan adopts a strange stance: she stands on one leg and brings her hands up, but her wrists bent like she's cupping something. Her hands crackle with lightning. "Nasira, follow my lead." * Nasira glances to Shan and nods once. [They both rush past, crossing in front of each other. The aim is just a bit off as they cross, but it looks good for a first attempt. Sparks and super- heated air fly around. [Nasira can have a knife attack if she wishes to follow-up.] * Nasira does. She spins, snapping the knife out of her sheath and slamming it into the pirate. [Nasira doesn't manage to make it with the knife. It whiffs just short and cuts through his ragged clothes. He hisses. "Youuuu are the defillerss... you are in leeeeague with her..." [Naiya's turn!] * Naiya reloads, while staying on guard- and in his way. "Your zombies have ravaged an innocent town. Do not claim that any other is a defiler except you." [The captain comes around at Naiya with the blades...again.] [Naiya manages to guard against both attacks. Shan's turn.] * Shan swivles around, hands up in a guarding position. But she doesn't attack just yet. "We seem to be at a bit of a misunderstanding. I know not of this woman of whom you speak. However, I do recall trying to talk to you earlier. You responded by attempting to attack me." [The captain crosses both blades in front of him. "The livvving...they are allll defilllers...."] * Shan frowns. "I see. I guess this means negotiations are at an end." She rushes at him, throwing a flying, electrified kick. "Atyaaaaah!" [The kick hits the captain square in the chest. He staggers, still crackling, but still seems to be standing well.] * Shan somersaults off him. As she does, the lightning transfers from her body to his. [The lightning crackles over to him. He staggers, but still seems sturdy.] [Nasira's turn] * Nasira growls, pressing forward and slashing crossways with her saif before shifting her grip on her dagger and bringing it up towards his chin. [The cuts gash across the pirates mid section. It starts to leak rot. It looks like it's starting to wear down.] [Naiya!] * Naiya finishes reloading, and takes aim again. She doesn't fire just yet. "Speak of this woman and cease your attack upon the living, and these living may be persuaded to let you continue to exist." [Naiya aims!] [The captain seems to stagger. "Shrine...destroyed...musssst...protect..." It swings its sword at Nasira and she hears the earth rumbling from both sides. Ranged magic defense.] [The earth comes from both sides and...smashes Nasira in between two hefty rocks. When they fall back towards the ground, it rumbles some more, creating a huge crack of earth.] [Nasira manages to jump in time. There's a huge fissure where she was standing a moment ago.] [Shan's turn.] [Oh, and Nasira's pretty SERIOUSLY bleeding at this point.] * Shan folds one arm behind her back, the other outstretched like she's beckoning. "Before we lay you to rest... you wouldn't happen to have a daughter in the town, would you?" * Nasira lands, stumbling with a grunt. Blood is streaming down her legs and cuts all over her arms and back and such. Her clothes are torn. Eew. * Naiya spares a glance for Nasira's condition. She bites back a gasp. [The captain just eyes Shan coldly and blankly. Wrong guy?] * Shan figures he probably is. So she dashes towards him, throwing a spinning backfist at his head. [The captain staggers at the hit. He's still standing, but barely.] [Nasira!] * Shan shakes her hand. It's probably got rotting flesh and/or goo on it now. [Yes. Yes it does.] * Nasira snarls and runs forward on her wounded legs, slicing at the captain as she goes, an orange-red line of light following her sword. [The captain gets slashed by the sword and holds up his own to block. Again, it cleaves through the blades and one tip goes flying. The blade carves through his zomboid flesh and he falls over in a heap.] * Nasira yanks her sword out of the zombie and watches him as he falls. * Naiya steps back, and forces her gaze to Nasira. "... Nasira. You look like you're about to fall apart." [She does. She really does. Naiya doesn't look in all that good of shape either but she looks better than Nasira.] Yeah, but he actually did. * Shan makes her way over to Nasira, fumbling with her medical equipment. Well, not really; Shan doesn't fumble. "Sit down." [As Shan kneels down, she catches the hint of a necklace or something around the captain's neck. It's under his tatters.] * Naiya blinks, then smiles widely. "And yet you find room for humor." * Nasira tries to flick some gore off of her saif, then sheathes it. She looks over to Shan and blinks, then tries to walk and sort of stumbles, then nearly falls over. She sits. * Shan blinks a bit. She grabs it with one hand while preparing her materials with the other. * Naiya doesn't do much herself, except look over her legs. * Shan sets the necklace aside for a moment and gets to work. "These are some pretty serious injuries." * Naiya tests her steps, purposefully putting weight on her hurt leg, and biting back winces and small mewls of pain until she can't take it anymore. [Shan recognizes the symbol from around ancient times. When supposedly Aquainis was around and the lower lands were all solid.] [WHAT the symbol actually represents would require her to know the ancient language, which she doesn't.] * Naiya glances back at Shan and Nasira, idly deciding if it's worth it to ask for their help- then decides against it, and limps along down the canyon. * Nasira shrugs. She doesn't seem to care much. * Shan bandages Nasira up, "That should do for now, but you'd best not move without my assistance. One moment." She starts on her own legs, though thankfully they're not quite so injured. * Shan finishes with her own feet and stands up, grabbing the necklace as she goes. She reaches for Nasira's hand. "Come." * Nasira grabs Shan's hand and rises to her feet, wincing slightly. * Shan assists Nasira, and leads her ... over to Naiya. "You daft fool. Continue like you are and you may destroy the use of your legs. Sit down." * Naiya slows, then stops. Her head droops. "... it mentioned a shrine. Destroyed." * Naiya sits down, too! (Ah, the power of suggestion) * Shan turns to Nasira. "This will just take a moment. Excuse me." [There isn't a sign of the shrine just here. But the canyon does go around the bend.] * Nasira nods once to Shan. She eyes Naiya, then turns her attention away from both women, looking around. * Shan heads over to Naiya, reaching into her medical pouch. * Shan then gets to work, jabbing her with many sharp pointy things. * Naiya squeezes her eyes shut, murmuring- perhaps praying?- to herself. * Shan finishes. "It's over. You can open your eyes now." * Shan stands up. "You did not land properly. The damage is far greater than what Nasira and I suffered. I've set your legs, so they should heal, but you'd be well advised not to walk without assistance." * Naiya takes a deep, shuddering breath, then slowly gets up. When she gets her composure back, she looks Shan face-to-face. "I thank you, Shan." She then bows her head. * Shan turns around. She heads back to Nasira. "Don't thank me. I didn't do it because I like you." * Naiya closes her eyes, and says, somewhat sadly, "You have still aided me. Regardless of your reasonings, I still consider that an act worthy of gratitude." * Shan moves to support Nasira. Her only response to Naiya is: "Perhaps if you're lucky, Enzo will assist you with walking when he gets here." * Shan doesn't say that with any disdain, mind. She's pretty emotionless about it, all things considered. [Session End. Lookit me and my bad brackety self.]
