[Ho ho and a bottle of rum.] [The Port! The Port! The Port is On Fire! Well, possibly. No one knows the fate of Port Rio as you sail away on a commendeered (read: stolen) ship towards Forthsith. The journey has taken two days and the sun is starting to set again. The port is in site. The dock is ahead. It's just a matter of obtaining the help you need.] [The ship is nameless as of yet, but I'm certain that will change.] [Ze session. She is startink.] (I name it Fluffy.) (* Ship is now known as Fluffy) * Nasira is on deck. And she isn't practicing! She's idly pacing instead, though it's not the nervous sort - it's more walking for walking's sake. * Shan is on deck, captaineering. * Virgil is inside the captain's quarters! This... isn't really a surprise. * Nasira gets bored and wanders below deck. She knocks on the door to the captain's quarters with a grin. * Virgil says, from within the captain's quarters, "Come on in." * Nasira opens the door a crack and peeks in. She grins. "Are we there yet?" * Virgil is working on some papers. "You were above decks. Maybe you could tell me." We're almost there. You're the navigator. You might wanna come up. Besides, the lack of sun's no good for your skin tone. Trust me on this. * Nasira shuts the door and wanders back up. Yeah, when I'm done here... * Nasira doesn't even hear him! * Virgil doesn't notice! * Filis comes back on deck from her cabin and glances about. (Or bunk, whatever. She didn't get a private cabin ^^;) * Nasira waves idly at Filis, then goes back to watching the upcoming port. "Hey, lady." * Filis looks ahead. "We're approaching port?" * Virgil finds his way above decks with a few papers in-hand, and a book. Always a book. He adjusts his glasses and looks at the horizon. So what did you want to say? * Nasira points. "Port's right there." She looks to Virgil. "Who wanted to say something what now?" * Filis shakes her head. "It's just as well. We probably should supply if we're continuing our voyage on this vessel." Either way... Oh, well. * Virgil clears his throat. "What should we name this ship?" Fluffy. ... No. Divine. Divine Wind? * Filis tilts her head slightly. * Shan shrugs. "Either would suffice." * Nasira chuckles. "Okay, that works better than Fluffy." Mmm... I never was good at naming these things. Divine Wind it is. [The port is close. Let's see if Shan can moor. XD] ( I was just going to hit the brakes. ) * Nasira goes to drop the anchor when the time is right. She can do this. [The boat heads towards the dock, but Shan misjudges slightly. Nasira also tries to lower the anchor in time but is just a smidgeon too slow...] [The newly, maybe named ship scrapes against the edge of the dock. The whole deck rocks hard as the wood splinters away, some from the outer hull of the ship, some from the pier itself. It grinds a little ways before stopping. Virgil, Filis, and Naiya (who apparently just made it above deck) all get smacked to the wooden floor of the top deck. Nasira and Shan are lucky enough to brace themselves for the impact. Lucky bastar * Naiya tumbles, and not in the fancy acrobatic way. "Aiiieee!" [ Lucky bastards considering they're the ones that caused it.] * Nasira does brace. "Did I mention we're new at this?" she calls cheerfully. * Shan balances with her chi! (Um, I'm below decks?) ( It's not my fault. It's Virgil's navigation. ) * Naiya gets to her knees, not daring to stand up all the way just yet. "It's called the school of 'Hard Knocks,' I beleive." (/slap Shan) [Virgil, being in the captain's cabin, gets knocked against the side of the wall before falling to the floor. Ow.] * Filis lands on the ground, scrapes on her arms and oofs. * Naiya waits until it stops all the way, then stands up and surveys the damage, wincing. * Virgil is knocked around. Ooch. * Shan peers around. "Well... That wasn't too bad for a first try." * Virgil picks himself. "Gotta teach that woman how to be a helmsman." * Naiya walks over to the edge of the ship, and further surveys the damage ruefully. * Filis picks herself and dusts herself off. "I suppose not...I doubt I could have done better.." [Ship Damage: Fairly superficial, all told. A Merchantile roll will probably tell you approximately how much it would cost to repair. The people who fell all have mild to moderate wounding, with Virgil looking a little worse off than the rest. Nothing is overly serious though.] * Naiya shakes her head, drooping it a bit. "Any landing you can walk away from..." * Nasira eyes Naiya, but she doesn't say anything. She heads below decks. "Gonna get Enzo's lazy butt out here." [Nasira finds Enzo out cold! And off his bunk. Whether he was knocked out from the impact or is simply still sleeping through it is anyone's guess.] * Virgil comes up from below deck, and he doesn't look happy. "What the heck did you just do?" * Naiya turns to Virgil, and gestures at the dock they just ran into. "We're here." * Nasira eyes. "Way to go, kid." She checks Enzo's vitals, then picks him up and puts him back on his bunk. * Virgil rubs his head. "Oh, that's great. I mean what'd you do to the ship?" The ship's just scratched, it looks like. I hope you're right. * Virgil grumbles something about something and goes back below decks. * Nasira wanders out of Enzo's room, shutting the door behind her. [The dock is just a jump or a gangplank away, depending on your preference.] * Naiya lets Nasira or Shan get off first. They're the crazy, fearless ones. * Filis looks about. "Is everyone alright?" * Shan nods. "Quite, thank you. And you? * Naiya nods. * Nasira walks up. "I'm fine. Enzo's out." A little scraped. But otherwise, I'm fine. The kid fell off his bunk. * Naiya slaps her hand against her forehead. Is he alright? No. What'd I just say? * Naiya frowns, and rushes past Nasira to check on him herself. I mean, he's not gonna die or anything, but I wouldn't- right. She's very anxious, isn't she? * Virgil comes up from below decks one final time with a bunch of neatly folded papers in his hands. "I'll say. Are you going to disembark or not?" She's something. * Nasira looks to her boss. [Naiya finds a !dead Enzo!] Yes, I believe that would be a good idea. Do you really think this port will be able to send aid in time though..? * Naiya checks him over for something like BLEEDING FROM THE HEAD, which Nasira may or may not care to check herself. Doubtful, but we'd need to resupply regardless. [Enzo is not, how do you say it, suffering from a massive gaping head wound if that's what you mean.] * Filis sighs. "I was afraid of that. But in such a small vessel, I doubt there's much we could have done irregardless." * Naiya makes sure he's comfortable, and tucks him in, before heading back up. Where's the gangplank? And did you properly moor the ship yet? Probably not. * Naiya pads back up to the deck, softly. * Virgil shakes his head. "Okay, someone needs to get to he dock and tie the ship down so we can then lower the gangplank and have an easier time loading and unloading supplies. * Naiya walks past Virgil, Nasira, and the others, back to the edge of the ship in contact with the dock, and simply jumps over the edge. Yeah, sure. * Nasira walks to the edge, eyes the distance, and jumps to the dock. Because she can't swim and is freaking crazy. * Naiya walks over to the nearest tying-rope-to-it-so-the-boat-doesn't-float-off thing, and holds up a hand. "Toss the rope to me, please?" (I clear it, right? Right GM? Sploosh?) [It's really not that far, but it probably isn't the easiest way to get down. Still Nasira lands on her feet.] (Geez, give me time to respond at least :P) [Naiya can do it too. Go her.] * Nasira lands on her feet! She's awesome. * Naiya isn't awesome, but she is there and waiting first. [Naiya ties ze ship!] * Shan gets out her feather fan and disembarks. ... You know, you might have wanted to put the gangplank down first. * Naiya waits, patiently. * Shan doesn't bother with that. She gets off the same way the others did. * Naiya glances at Nasira, who's also at her level, and raises her eyebrows at her for a moment, then looks back up at the ship- then at the disembarking Shan. * Virgil walks over to the captain's quarters and waits, papers in-hand. * Naiya waits patiently for the gangplank to come down. Wait, wait. * Virgil really can't move the gangplank all by himself. ^^; [All the jumpers make it out onto the quiet docks. No one's here to greet you. Boo on them. Poor public relations.] * Naiya wonders if they were warned that Nasira would be coming. [Maybe. XD] (Mwahaha.) Guys? You *might* want to come up here. Coming! * Naiya looks- is there an easy way back up? [Nope.] * Nasira looks up. "Oh, jump down. The dock is fine!" No, really. This place isn't ever this quiet. It's a regularly travelled shipping route. * Naiya spits on both her palms, rubs them together, and goes about trying to climb the rope she just tied back up to the ship. * Shan surveys the town. "Hmm... Perhaps we'd best not spend long here." [Naiya doesn't sploosh (the boat is too close to the dock for that) but she does fall off the rope. Oof.] * Naiya oofs, and gets back up, rubbing her butt for a moment. She eyes the rope, and shoves the wrists of her shirt up to her elbows, making to try again. * Filis looks at Virgil. She's still on the boat. Ha! "Are you certain?" Very certain. I wonder what could be amiss. Do you want to go and find out? * Shan heads for town. "I'll check it out The rest of you get this ship ready, in case we need to leave quickly. * Naiya glances at Nasira and Shan. "If there may be trouble, I would get my armor first. It's still on the ship." And that means we need to get this plank down. * Naiya tackles the rope again. * Nasira looks to Shan. "Sure ya don't want me to go with you?" * Filis frowns. "If there is trouble, where do we go though?" * Shan nods to Nasira. "Best if you don't. I can keep myself out of sight well enough." * Nasira frowns. "I don't think that's such a good idea, but if that's what you want." * Virgil shrugs. Shan, we need food, water, and some spare lumber. Try and pick some up if you can. [Naiya tries again. Naiya falls again. This is starting to become a pattern.] * Naiya sits on her butt, and pouts for a moment. (Should I open seperate channel for Shan?) ( Kay ) (You and logger, join #totown * Nasira snickers a little, but she decides to give climbing a try. This won't end well. * Naiya gets to her feet, and starts pacing back and forth the boats length. [Nasira doesn't manage to make it up the rope either. Boo.] * Naiya holds back a small little laugh at Nasira's accomplishments. * Naiya then offers Nasira a hand up. She doubts it will be accepted, though. * Filis frowns at that. "Perhaps we could help. Is there another rope on board?" * Nasira doesn't accept it, getting to her feet herself. "I don't know. Take a look." * Virgil scratches his head and continues thinking on WTF is going on. * Naiya glances at Nasira for a moment, then looks up at the ship. "Perhaps one of us should have stayed up and set up the gangplank..." * Filis goes to look! [Session End!]
