[When we last left Virgil, he was flying through the air with the greatest of ease. The Griffon is in site, but there seems to be a problem. The broadsides crack with gunpowder as the cannons roar. The noise rings more and more through the air as Virgil approaches.] [But Virgil is a man with a mission and mish he shall. Let's let him get on with it, shall we?] [Start in here.] * Virgil lands on the ship and looks around for someone who is normally in a reasonable in-charge position. Seeing how he was on the ship for a while, that shouldn't be too muchtrouble. [There's no one in charge where he lands, but there is some murmurs of recognition from a few around nearby him. Nearly everyone is busy and abuzz with activity. The crew is more lively than Virgil has ever seen them. Many seem astonished to just see someone they know alive, much less here.] * Virgil pulls aside one of the people on-board. "Where's Jake." It's more of a demand than a question, however. [A few of them look at each other before the ropes tug at their hands. Gripping it hard, one yells out, "He should be at the helm or around there. By the Maker, it's good to see you alive."] * Virgil grins. "Thanks, good to see the ship afloat. Take care." He runs up to the helm to get to Jake. [At the helm of the boat, Virgil does find Jake. Whether he feels like talking or not is anyone's guess. He looks a lot more stern than Virgil is used to and is walking about the helm, giving orders to all areas of the ship. His shouts echo through the air above the cannonfire.] Jake! What's going on? * Jake finishes off his last order, then yells out without looking. "What in Davey Jones's Locker do you think is going on? We're in the midst of a bleeding cannon fight is what!" Oh, so nothing that's not obvious. The rest of the crew that was with me earlier is going to head to the nearest Maltan town and do what we can to warn them about this. If I'm going to help, I need to get my supplies back. And, quite frankly, I'm not much good in a cannon fight. * Jake calls out at the top of his lungs. "Prepare the next volley! Load those cannons, you slackers, or you'll be sleeping with the sharks tonight!" He then replies in a gruff voice. "You've lost it, you know? Flying out to a ship like this for your effects. You're lucky you didn't get your full head bashed in by a flying cannon ba--" He suddenly stops and takes out his spyglass, opening it up and looking out towards the other ship. Probably. But I also came to tell you that I'm not dead and offer a minor amount of assistance. * Jake doesn't answer. instead he throws himself bodily at Virgil to knock him down to the deck. * Virgil falls over! [Good choice by Virgil. As soon as they both hit the deck, Virgil catches a sparkling chain of grapeshot coming towards the deck. Virgil definitely notices lightning magic in it.] (That's nearly redundant) Ah hell. They've got a tech user. [The grapeshot lands on the deck and flashes quickly across the front of the bow. It takes out the front-line of sailors with the scream of lightning-scorched flesh.] * Jake looks up. "Cor, magic shot...it's been a long while since I've seen that in action." He gets himself up. "Turn about hard! Port bow!" * Virgil gets up and starts running to his cabin. He makes his way in and starts gathering the most importaint of his effects that he didn't already posess: His most accurate maps, his crystal ball, a few of his favorite and rarest books, and his star chart. After rolling them up and putting them in a large sack, he heads back out. * Virgil looks around, spying for those who are down but not out. He quickly makes a few gestures and, if he doesn't get interrupted, casts a large-range healing spell over the crew. [Virgil isn't interrupted. People are unconscious sure, but they should be alright.] * Virgil takes a deep breath. He calls out to Jake. "Good luck Jake! I hope to see you in port again!" He makes his way to leave the boat and fly back to the other vessel. * Virgil casts his flight spell and makes way for the other ship.
