[Arr!] [A dreadful warning. A maiden in distress. A barroom brawl. Ah, this is what the pirate adventurer life is all about. Last time on Seekers, Nasira was left with the forces of Vithril on her hands. In the form of a teenage boy named Shakra, one of the two twins they met earlier. The girl they're after, Filis, darted right in to get away from them only for our valient crew to swipe her away in the shadow of the night in the back alley.] [Nasira faces a rather...enraged? Is he really enraged? Sure Nasira spit alcohol in his eyes but you can't really tell if he's any different than usual. But he's got a menacing chain. And Vithril soldiers on his side...although...] * Boy wipes his eyes. They look rather bloodshot from the alcohol, but he turns bleery-eyed to face the soldiers who've started to come to his rescue. "Don't." He grins and taunts the chain, holding his hand near each of the blades as he grins at Nasira. "This one's mine..." [There's where we are now. Nasira's ready for a showdown? We hope so. Session start!] * Nasira is always ready for a showdown. She's grinning, knife held loosely in her bandaged left hand, her right ready to grab her saif. Even patched, she looks horribly injured, but that sure isn't gonna stop her. Her eye gleams. "One on one? Sure you can handle it, kid?" (How much space do we have, GM?) ( * kid thinks. "Hmmmm... You're right, I can't. I'll let my goons do it instead." ) (Works for me!) [The tavern crew seems to be backing away from the fight. Chairs shift as people hastily grab their mugs and a silence fills the tavern as the patrons edge out towards the walls. They may not know what's going on, but they sure as hell don't want to get involved. Tables and chairs are somewhat neatly arranged, though a scattered chair is left here and there from a patron who left too quickly.] * Shakra doesn't say anything, just grins at Nasira and starts tossing his chained blade up and down in his hand. [The barkeep doesn't seem too pleased with the arrangement. He almost hisses at the soldiers. "Here now. I ain't having any trouble in my establishment like thi--" One of the Vithril soldiers starts walking his way and the barkeep hisses but keeps quiet.] * Nasira eyes that. "Huh, looks like you've got the place in hand." Attention back to the kid. "So, why'd they listen to you? It can't be your winning personality." * Shakra grins, his eyes gleaming as he casts his eyes down slightly towards Nasira. "Maybe you'll live long enough to find out." He charges! [Init] * Nasira has taken a few steps forward and lept into the air, even as Shakra begins to move. She nearly touches the ceiling as she smoothly draws her saif, bringing it down for the charging kid's shoulder and chest. * Shakra starts to bring up his chain to catch Nasira's blade. He grins even as he takes a gash on the shoulder. Didn't raise it quite fast enough. He swings the chain around with deadly accuracy towards Nasira's chest. * Nasira brings her knife up and catches the chain. Before Shakra can tighten its grip, though, she flicks the chain aside, slicing toward his face in a high feint. * Shakra falls for the feint and draws his chain up high in anticipation. He's still grinning. "Come on, come on, come on already..." * Nasira shifts her grip on her saif and smirks, slicing low and in for his hip. "Can't say you didn't want it." * Shakra takes another gash in the hip. Blood spurts from the wound, but surprisingly, it only seems to excite him more. "Yes. How fun, how fun, how fun!" He jumps back and grins wickedly, taunting his chain, almost hissing out. "Now we're ready to have some fun..." * Shakra starts swinging his blade overhead. "One.." Vooom. "Two" Voom...the blade starts to whirr faster and catch an aura around it. "Three.." Voom...the chained blade, just around the blade tip, ignites into a fiery inferno. "Flameberge!" He launches the encased flaming blade towards Nasira. Voom! [The barkeep's eyes widen at that. "Are you bleeding INSANE?!? You're going to bring the whole place down in flames!" The Vithril soldier near him shuts him up, but he doesn't look too happy about it either. Some of the patrons nearest the door start to exit, post-haste.] [The burning blade of the chain-sickle flies at Nasira who tries to get out of the way of the flexible chain. It gashes right above her chest and...gah, it burns. Her outfit is set on fire almost before the blade even touches and the slash doesn't help. She has blister marks across the open wound now.] * Shakra catches the sickle on its return and hangs it dangling in front of him. He's grinning. It's not a cocky grin. It's an insane grin. He seems rather pleased with the performance. * Nasira grunts and actually grimaces from the pain. Now she has a whole *new* set of blisters and wounds. Her eye fixes on Shakra, though, and she grins back with a dash for him, her saif catching a molten orange glow as she swings on an angle for his weapon. * Shakra pulls his chain up to guard Nasira's attack but the molten weapon cleaves through the chain like a hot knife through butter. The flaming sickle blade detaches from the main blade and lands on the table just before the flames on it die down. The fire starts to spread across the table. Shakra, for his part, doesn't look too pleased at that. For once, he's not grinning. You'll pay for that... * Nasira laughs. "You first, kid." She spins, sweeping her knife in a slice for his gut. [At the sight of the flaming table, more people start pouring out of the building. The Vithril soldiers look at each other. "This doesn't look too good." "Quit complaining. Let's get out of here. If the girl's in here, she'll be burned alive anyhow." They rush out after everyone else, though some of them are more hesitant than the others.] * Shakra grunts as the knife catches his gut. He eyes Nasira with a look of pure hatred. Then grins. "Ladies first...ladies first." He turns a chair over and kicks it at Nasira's feet but it ends up crashing into the flaming table instead. Foom! * Nasira smirks, jabbing high with her knife. "No, you got it *all* wrong," she says, as she follows up with her saif, slicing at his legs. "It's women and children. That means you, kid." * Shakra looks at Nasira and weaves instinctively away from her knife slash before jumping over her low swipe. He lands on the table and grins at Nasira. Whipping the chain around, he tries to wrap it around her neck with the end that was cut. [Nasira ducks under the chain! Go Nasira! Naiya enters to see what all the commotions about and the barkeep looks at her. "I don't know what your problem is, but you've got to get your insane friends out of my tavern! They're ruining the place!"] * Naiya blinks for a moment, then shakes her head and takes in the situation. "I... I promised I'd never command her to do anything again. I am sorry for the damage they are causing..." She watches Nasira and Shakra, almost spellbound by the two. [The barkeep mutters softly under his breath, but Naiya can still hear. "You're paying for it then..."] [Nasira's turn!] ... I'll help with the repairs, if I can. Only the child is here? Where's his brother? * Nasira grins, keeping with the duck and spinning as her saif catches its molten edge and digs for Shakra's midsection. This is followed with her shifting her grip on her knife, rising to bring the curved edge towards his chest. [Nasira gets a good hit in on Shakra's midsection. The leather armor burns away as the saif carves through it and gashes through his midsection. Shakra lets out a grunt. The other blade flies at his chest and Shakra doesn't move. But it just...stops. Speaking of brothers, there's Shihra, holding his blade horizontally in front of his brother, glancing up with a look of mild irritation at Nasira. "That's enough."] * Naiya blinks at the new arrival. * Nasira eyes that with something almost like irritation, and then she turns her good eye to Shihra. She holds the gaze for a moment before breaking into a grin: again, never mind that she's badly injured and on fire. "Look who decided to join the party." She pulls the knife back with a nice sound of metal scraping metal. * Shihra drops his blade slightly, keeping it out just in case, but lowering the point so he is not so much of a threat. "I must apologize. But I will not let my brother come to any more harm. No matter how wreckless he is." His expression does not change much during the whole exchange. His stance doesn't weaken either. * Shakra staggers back, holding his wound and looks at Nasira. He blows her a raspberry. * Nasira laughs. "Let?" She turns to the kid she was fighting, flashing a white- toothed smile. "You're just gonna run, then. What, playing with fire hurts too much for you?" He was not supposed to engage anyone in the first place. * Shihra glares at his brother. * Naiya grins a little. Oh, *orders*. * Nasira tsks. "Shame on you." [Shihra starts to speak when there's loud noise from outside and a commotion. Over the commotion, there's cannon's roaring from the dock. Some of the glasses and bottles rattle in the tavern. Shihra seems completely surprised by it.] * Nasira blinks at that. She fixes her gaze on Shihra. "Any idea what that is?" It's more a demand than a request. A demand from the insane burning woman in the burning bar. * Naiya watches Nasira, Lil' Nassy, and lil' Shan, oblivious to the shaking and rattling. * Shihra mutters offhand to Nasira in a condescending tone. "Why would I know anything about that? We have nothing to do with it." * Shakra, if it makes Naiya feel better, doesn't seem to notice it either. He's looking at Shihra a little confused and irritated that he missed something. "What is it, Shihra?" * Nasira grins. "Yeah, Shihra." She's almost taunting now. "Your brother wants to know." * Naiya steps forward, eyeing the flames and making herself known. She's walking reaaaal slow. "As do I." * Shihra almost hisses to Nasira. "I told you, I don't know." He dashes out towards the exit. Pretty fast, that kid. * Nasira tosses her knife, catching it by the hilt. "Better run," she says offhandedly to Shakra. "Or you'll be well done." * Shakra glances at his brother confused. "What's allth'fuss?" He walks out. [The barkeep rushes out from behind the bar with a bucket of water to put out the fire. Crazy kids.] * Naiya looks around for more water! Now that the fights over, she doesn't feel so bad about attracting attention to herself. Barring more water, a blanket or something to smother it with. * Nasira flicks blood off her knife and saif, sheathing them. * Nasira then turns, eyeing Naiya. What are you doing here? * Naiya then starts trying to do something about the fire. "The wall decided..." She pauses. "... that I shouldn't run." I didn't ... want to let the ground tell me too. ... Yeah, that makes perfect sense. Next time buildings start talking to you, let me know so I can put you out of your misery. * Nasira heads for the back exit. [There's another cannon volley from outside. This one doesn't rattle so much, so it's most likely a return fire.] * Naiya shakes her head, sadly. Then continues at the fire. "What... what was that?" No idea. I'm gonna check it out. * Nasira opens the back door and leaves! * Naiya stays! Bad fire, boo, hiss, snap-crackle-pop. * Shan comes in from the back door and bumps headlong into Nasira. "Ow!" * Shan rubs her head. * Nasira winces a little, because Shan managed to run straight into her gashed, blistered chest. Oh, yes. It's still bleeding, and blistering, and just a huge, scary mess. And her clothes are charred and all but burned off. * Shan looks Nasira over and reaches for her pouch. "You're a sight for sore eyes." [The fire is dying down much quicker thanks to the goodly Naiya's help.] [Nasira has modesty strips on her clothing! Hurrah for decency!] * Nasira laughs. "Aww, ya missed me. Any idea what's going on out there, boss?" * Naiya keeps at the fire! She keeps an ear on Nasira and Shan, though. * Shan shakes her head. "We had heard there would be an attack, but we know nothing about it. * Shan goes about fixing Nasira up. Quickly The attack... who had... * Nasira lets her, letting out only a slight grunt when Shan hits a tender spot. "Oh, an attack. So those are cannons." * Shan nods. [Boom! Another string of cannon shots.] * Naiya bites her lower lip, chewing on it for a moment. Come. We need to get to the others. ... and do what? How is Filis? And then we need to find a way out of here. * Naiya looks up at the next barrage. "We need to stop the attack!" * Shan shakes her head as she works. "Uncooperative." Don't be foolish. Unless you have a fleet in that armor, we couldn't possibly do that. What we need to do is escape. Or at least slow it down... give people longer to get away... * Naiya looks at Shan and Nasira. "... you do not agree, do you?" * Nasira eyes Naiya. "I don't even know what this attack is about. And who's Filis?" The girl. Ah, okay. So. An attack. Well, guess that can't do. If there's an attack... is the Gryffon involved? There's no way to know that. [Nasira gets poked. Unfortunately poking does little for burns. But if Shan's track record is any indication, she'll feel at least a bit better.] * Shan uses some salves and stuff too. ( And maybe a few ointments. ) ( Some herbs... ) * Naiya stops what she's doing, then shakes her head. Check on Filis first, then determine a course of action. One thing at a time. I'm well aware of that. * Nasira frowns a bit. She doesn't say anything. [Kaboom...and the shots keep on coming.] * Shan finishes and rises to her height. "Come. Keep low and try not to draw attention to yourselves." She walks out. * Naiya looks guiltily at the bartender, then heads after Shan. * Nasira shrugs. She walks out. She doesn't attack anybody. That's not drawing attention, right? * Nasira also looks back and gives the bartender a cheerful wave. "Sorry about the mess!" she calls. [The bartender doesn't look. He's too busy cleaning UP the mess.] I'm sorry about the damage! I'll come back and help with what's left next time I'm by! * Naiya clinks out. * Shan walks hurriedly, frowning. "It sounds like the wall has been breached. We don't have much time." [Outside, the streets are in panic. People are running everywhere. The crowds seem to be getting thinner though. There seem to be a lot of call for the city guards. A fat lot of good they'll do.] * Naiya looks around, worriedly. She looks like she badly wants to be out there with them, instead of following Shan. But follow Shan she does. [Shan heads out. She makes her way straight away for the temple to the awaiting Filis, Virgil, Enzo, and as-of-yet-nameless priest. What fate will befall our crew?] [We'll find out next time. Session End.]
