[Arrr, mateys. Welcome to...the land of the EVIL MISTS! And sea monsters and sunken ships and treasure. Everyone is currently in a ship that's drifting about without an anchor. They're trying to fix that. Enzo already seems to be up and about because his bed is empty (and a mess), but the rest of you are waking up or something from the cabins, because it's early in the morning.] [Session Start.] * Naiya is just waking up? Seems like she's -still- up. Sure people yawn when they're tired, but they don't yawn -that- much. * Nasira wakes, stretches, and dresses offscreen and without detail, thanks. She fixes her hair, grabs her saif and dagger, pulls on her slippers, and heads out into the obscured-by-mist world. * Shan emerges from her cabin, adjusting her hat. She's sparking again. * Nasira glances at Shan's hat of the day, then grins. "Mornin'." [Seas calm. Mist isn't so bad today. Enzo might be up amongst the rigging, it's hard to tell. Bunch of extras scurrying about the deck doing sailory stuff.] * Naiya is in her zaxonish garb, sans armor. She's already got her diary out, though, and is writing stuff down init. * Shan nods to Nasira. "Good morning. Were you able to sleep well?" * Virgil is sleeping in, or reading books. Either way, he's not out. Once I actually slept, yeah. That meditation stuff's handy. * Naiya makes her way to the pointy front end of the ship, not noticing much of her surroundings in between the yawns and the writing. She plops down there, and keeps doing the yawning and writing thing. * Shan nods. "Glad you approve." * Nasira eyes Naiya as she wanders by, then looks around for the captain. Oh captain, their captain. [Captain doesn't seem to be on deck right now. Huh.] Huh, wonder where he is. Figure our illustrious captain's sleeping today? Perhaps. He has had a lot to deal with recently. * Nasira snickers. "If a sea monster attacks today, I'm not goin' to wake him up. I don't think it will be back. And anyhow, a sea monster is the least of our worries. * Naiya suddenly claps her book shut, and stands up, shaking her head. She then proceeds to quickly walk back belowdecks, again not paying much attention to her surroundings. * Shan crackles. Fzzt! * Naiya dosen't come back up just yet. She does stash her journal and replace that with a bottle of unmarked alchohol before hanging out by what caught her attention. Really? What else've we got to be worried about, besides the anchor and drifting off to our death by rocks and whirlpool? That was what I had meant, yes. * Nasira grins. "Oh, good. I was almost afraid it'd be something unexpected." * Naiya shrugs, and walks quickly back abovedeck. She almost singlemindedly heads towards the pointy front end of the ship again, this time with al-ky-hol. She rubs her eyes and forehead with her free hand somewhere in there. She's probably still not paying attention. Well, I suppose we might be attacked by pirates. Real ones, you think? That'd be fun. Not so much fun. * Naiya plops down on the edge of the ship, and corks open the jug. * Nasira grins. "Sure it would. For one, you don't gotta get wet to hurt them." [There's a slam from below deck. Moments later, Captain Jake walks on deck. Nor they you. * Naiya then starts drinking. Whee! * Shan turns her attention to the captain. * Nasira looks over to the captain that same grin. "Morning, sleeping beauty." Good day to you, sir. * Naiya dosen't notice the captain. She's not paying attention to much, really. *yawn* * Jake nods to Shan and Nasira as he steps on deck. He's not much acknowledging Nasira's comments. * Virgil is still being a SLEEPING LAZY ASS. Anything occur while I was occupied? * Nasira points up. "They're playing with sails." Points to the back of the ship. "They're playing with the lack of anchor." * Jake nods. "We should have a replacement for the anchor soon enough." You carry spares on this ship? I wouldn't have guessed. Not...exactly. * Jake chuckles a little nervously. "We have to improvise I'm afraid. Still better than nothing." * Virgil yawns as he emerges from his lai- I mean room and walks on deck. "G'morning guys. What's up?" * Nasira points at Jake. "He overslept, and so did you." * Naiya dosen't notice Virg, either. She does make a half-hearted wave in his direction for some reason, though. I didn't oversleep, lass. * Shan crackles. Fzzzt! Anyhow, I told the lads to turn the ship around. We should be outta this place in no time...we've got what we came for. * Jake leans on the railing. Oversleep? I was just lookin' over the charts and making sure we didn't get blown too much off course. You were? Of course I was. And you weren't sleepy? * Virgil adjusts his glasses. "I'd be lying if I said I wasn't." * Nasira eyes Jake. "Worried about somethin'?" * Naiya stands up suddenly, hopping to her feet and paces back to the entrance to belowdecks. She stops this time though, noticing Jake. "... wha?" * Jake waves it off. "Not particularly." * Jake looks at Naiya. * Nasira grins. "Sure, captain. Sure." She glances around. Oh, mist. We're going to need to go a bit further south, though. The winds have pushed us north, which is almost opposite of our current destination. ... I'm sorry. I'm ti- *yawn* ... tired. *yawn* Excuse me. *sniffs, and closes her eyes, before continuing her original path.* * Shan shrugs. "So it is." * Jake turns towards Virgil. "Odd. I told the lads to make for Dusien." He calls out. "Alright, lads. Hard to port." Perhaps a bit of mis-orientation has occured. It wouldn't be the first I've seen of it. [There's a distinct lack of turning from the ship.] ...huh. I'll go check it out. Maybe we're being pulled into another whirlpool. Wouldn't be the first time we've seen that, either. * Jake makes his way towards the steering wheel. I should hope not. * Virgil hmmms. "I think we're in a sort of predicament." * Naiya comes back up almost immediately, with a blanket thrown over her shoulders. She paces back to the mast, and plops down again, and starts again on the alchohol. * Shan looks over the side of the ship. "How long can these mists last?" Forever! It's magic mist. You have to ask? Yes, Virgil, I suppose I do. * Nasira snickers. "If she doesn't ask questions, she won't get answers. Not like you know the answer, but it's the thought that counts." * Virgil winces and stumbles, holding his head. He manages to keep himself standing with his staff, but starts trying to walk back to his room. * Shan peers at something in the mists. She glances to the sides, then behind her. * Virgil keeps walking and manages to find his way to something to lean on. He's pretty obviously in pain, but us being us, there's not likely anything we can do. ^^; * Nasira also seems to notice something, as she looks around, too. "Shan? You're hearing that, too?" Hearing what? [There's a clomping and shuffling of boots on the deck.] * Nasira looks around. "The singing." She eyes Virgil, then walks over to him and nudges him in the shoulder. "Get seasick or something?" We're surrounded. We are? By what? I'm... not sure. * Naiya dosen't register any of that, nope. But what ever they are, they're coming closer. * Virgil shakes his head. "Does seasickness give you a spliting headache?" ... No. I wouldn't know. I've never been seasick. * Nasira grins suddenly, putting her hand on her saif. "Well, *I* don't have a headache." Lucky you. Are you seasick then, Nasira? [Nasira's up. She still can't spot anything yet though.] * Nasira backs to stand near Shan, eyes darting and sword ready. "No. But I'll bet it's not seasickness." [Out of the mists, arms reach to grab hold of Naiya. She may be tired, but apparently she's alert enough to get out of the way.] [In the arms place are...some of the crew members of the Gryphon. And they don't look too pleased with Naiya dodging.] Wha... what.... they're my sins, and my sins alone! *blinks a moment* [Shan's turn. She can see more people in the shadows in front of her. And two more groups on each side.] ... a mutiny? * Nasira looks around. "Hey! What's the big idea!" * Shan stares. "What in the hells?" [Nasira looks around. She sees lots of the men advancing on them. Leading the pack is Alar.] [Naiya!] * Naiya scrambles to her feet, tossing the blanket and jug at the pair of hands. "NO!" [Naiya's tossing seems rather ineffective against the people surrounding her.] [Virgil's headache seems to be subsiding. He finally gets a full grasp of the situation.] * Virgil shakes his head and looks around, trying to figure out what in nine hells is going on. [Virgil fails to hear the same thing that Nasira hears though. Boo.] [A couple of the crew come at Shan and Nasira. They swing and poke with their swords, but it whisks past them. Alar draws his blade and points it at Nasira, speaking calmly. "...Stand down and no one gets hurt.." It seems to take effort for him to say that.] [Nasira's turn.] * Nasira grins at Alar, teeth flashing in the light. "I never stand down from anybody." She pulls her scabbard from her sash and seems ready to draw her sword. "Get away from here. I'll stall them!" And go where? [The crew makes another grab for Naiya but miss. Shan's turn.] Wherever. Find out what's causing this. ... I'll look for Jake. Don't do anything foolhardy, Nasira. * Shan runs towards the wheel. [Shan disappears into the mist as she runs past. A few of the crew turn to grab her but they miss. Naiya's turn.] * Naiya looks around, before darting off to where Nasira is. "What's going on?" She's awake -now-. You got me! Not *towards* me. Go! What, you can take on everyone by yourself? *She dosen't stop heading torwards Nasira* [Virgil's turn while they argue over whether she should go towards Nasira or not.] * Virgil looks back and forth. Shan's safer than these two psychos! Not by much, but still safer! He runs back to the helm following in Shan's footsteps. * Nasira fixes her gaze on Naiya for a brief moment. "Don't say I never tried to do something nice for you." She grips the scabbard with her left hand and hilt with her right, drawing her saif in a smooth motion and holding it above her head and turning, an angrily hot and powerful gust of air forming against the blade. She whips it out as she spins once, the air becoming a spiral of heated wind. [The air becomes stifling hot all around. Alar, for his part, doesn't seem too bothered by it, but the rest of the crew groans at the sudden heat. Naiya feels it too. It's hard to breath in this kind of atmosphere. Oof.] [Still, the crew manages to slump forward and grasp at Nasira's shoulders. Unarmed defense (grabs) [Nasira manages to pull free of their flailing arms. Top of the round. Nasira again.] * Nasira is back to grinning madly, glancing around at all the men coming at her. She draws her knife lefthanded. "That's the best you can do?" This is followed by eyeing Alar. "Shoulda trained them better." [Alar doesn't move. He does "..." though.] [There's grumbling and shouting from the crew near Naiya. They don't seem to be able to function in the heat.] * Naiya winces, doing her best to brace herself the best she can against the heat. [Alar points his blade at Nasira. "...So be it. You will not yield peacefully as I thought." He attacks!] ... like the Caladeem deserts... [Amazingly enough, Alar's attack manages to get past Nasira's knife and saif. She takes a gash in the side.] [Naiya's turn.] * Nasira narrowly avoids getting completely skewered as she tries move, still getting sliced. She does laugh, though. "That's rich. Since when was I peaceful?" * Naiya steps forward, getting between Nasira and Alar, raising her head high, looking more like royalty than anything else. "Stop. A mutiny will solve nothing. This pointless fighting won't change anything, we'll still be stuck out here unless we work together! Stop, now!" [The crew...doesn't seem to care much. In fact they so not care that they're slashing at both Nasira AND Naiya. None of them make it though. Probably due to the heat.] They're not gonna listen to you. They'll listen. Persistent words will fall even on deaf ears. * Nasira smirks. "Not over the singing." ... singing? * Nasira nods, bringing knife and sword up to guard position again. [Nasira's turn.] * Nasira steps to one side so Alar doesn't have to go through Naiya to get to her. She keeps the grin up and doesn't seem to care that she's bleeding messily from her side. "That's the best you can do? I'm barely feeling it." [Alar doesn't respond. He steps in again quickly, swinging the sword at Nasira's saif quickly.] [Naiya tries to step inbetween Nasira and Alar. NEVER get between two fighters and their sword. The sword swings before Naiya can interpose herself and collides with Nasira's where the tip EXPLODES. Nasira's sword goes skittering across the deck and is stepped on by one of the crew, stopping it fast. Nasira takes a bit of the backlash of the attack too.] ... stop... * Nasira jerks her hand back; there's burns all over it, now, but her grin does *not* falter. "That's more like it." [Alar regains his grip on the sword and points the blade at Nasira's throat. "Yield now?" * Nasira laughs. She still has her knife in her left hand, and she brings it up to meet Alar's blade. "Never." [The rest of the crew are coming up to Nasira but fail to get her. Naiya's turn.] * Naiya 's eyes flash angrily. "Both of you, STOP!" She gets in their way. Again. [Alar doesn't move his blade at Naiya's request.] * Nasira freezes for a moment, then the smile's gone, and she shuts her eye. Slowly, painfully, she lowers her knife and lets go. It clatters to the deck. "Fine." I will allow no blood to be shed over something so STUPID! *She glares equally at Nasira and Alar* * Nasira lowers her head and doesn't open her eye, taking short, shallow breaths. [The men move in. Lots of them have rope.] ... ... nevermind. If you want to get us lost all at sea with your stupid mutiny, then have at it. * Nasira lets them tie her up without even token resistance. [Both Naiya and Nasira are fit to be tied.] * Naiya gets out of Nasira's way. "... I apologize for stopping you." Shut up. [It's about then that Shan, Virgil and Jake make it back....what timing.] * Nasira doesn't look up. She doesn't even seem to notice, really. ... * Jake looks up and blinks one eye then the other at Alar. "..Alar..? I know you were questioning my motives earlier but...this..?" * Virgil looks over at Shan. "If there were injuries, I would have taken care of it alre- Aw hell." * Naiya is the alert one this time. Although now that hint of sadness in her eyes has grown beyond that; they're practically drowning in silent angst. * Nasira gasps for breath and winces involuntarily. * Shan looks to Alar. "What is the meaning of this? We're headed back anyhow. Why would you mutiny now?" * Alar turns around and points the sword at them. "Them next." [The crew approaches Shan and Virgil and Jake with rope!] * Virgil backs up, making a few gestures and taking to the air. "Uh huh..." * Shan narrows her eyes. She lets go of Jake and stands on one foot, her leg bent, one arm out and one bent forward overhead. "I know not why you would choose to do this, but I will not allow this to continue. Too much is at stake." [All who made it notice something in the distance. It looks like...an island?] [Alar raises his arms up. "It doesn't matter. They call."] Who? .... What? Okay, that's *not* supposed to be there. * Alar points his swords at Shan. "Bind them." [Shan's turn.] * Nasira bites out, angrily, "I told you." She takes a short breath. "The singing. Don't fucking listen." Singing? Are you talking about Sirens? I'm warning you, I-... what sirens? Who cares what they are! * Virgil frowns. I do. It might solve this madness. [They don't stop. Two groups are closing on Shan.] Sirens... ... that would explain the empty ship. * Shan glares. "You were warned." She jumps and spins in the air, throwing a leaping roundhouse at the nearest crewman. "Waa Chaaaaa!" [The crewman gets smacked and falls to the ground. The rest of the crew around Shan jump on her. Defense roll.] [Shan avoids getting grabbed. Virgil!] * Naiya moves closer to Nasira, trying, without much luck, to get Nasira loose from her knots. * Virgil murmers and concentrates as the sun's covered by storm clouds. A series of winds blow through and it starts raining, with lightning streaking to the water. The seas are getting treacherous people. [The island comes out of the mists, meaning you're getting awfully close. The seas are indeed getting treacherous though. [Nasira's turn.] [The third group starts climbing the rigging to get up to the masts to get Virg. Enzo's up there, unconscious from the effects, just like Jake was.] * Nasira opens her eye, takes another short, gasping breath, and fixes her gaze on the knife she dropped earlier. She falls to her knees, trying to grab it with her tied hands. [Alar doesn't look too happy at one of his crewmen going down. "You'll regret that." He swings his sword in a large arc at Shan, a slight roar heard as it streams through the air.] [Shan steps to the side of the blade as it swings diagonally down. It hits the deck, exploding on contact. Shrapnel of the deck surface flies up.] [The crew tries to grab Shan from where she moves to but...they suck.] [Virgil] * Virgil flies back away from the rigging far enough so the sailors can't jump and reach him and starts casting another spell. [The clouds are looking mighty black, and are actually parting the mist around where the ship is. The ship rocks violently with the sudden change in weather.] [The island is still ahead. It's getting closer and closer. The shallows are definitely near.] [Nasira's turn.] * Nasira concentrates, feeling around with her good hand, and grabs the knife by its hilt. She twists it in her fingers, bringing the hot, glowing blade up to the ropes binding her wrists. [Alar scowls at Nasira. "Stop her!" He thrusts his foot out at her hands.] [Nasira's knife goes skittering. There's a smoldering smell from Alar's boot.] * Nasira doesn't even wince. She just grits her teeth and stands, bringing herself to full height. [Alar growls at getting the hotfoot. Shan's turn.] * Shan glares at Alar, her eyes hidden behind a burst of lightning. "You dare! Insolent fool!" She spins a full 360 degrees and thrusts her palm into his back. "Tyaaaah!" * Shan strikes with the fury of lightning. Fzzt! [Shan's fists of justice strike true. Alar seems to move in slow motion as he turns to face Shan, then gets jolted by the full force of the electricity. The lightning crackles over his whole body and extends to encompass some of the crew about him. He falls to his knees and props himself up with his sword. Another two next to him goes down too.] [Alar pants, hanging onto his sword, he glances around. "Wh--what? How'd I...?" Are you quite in your right mind now? Cover your ears! Turn the ship around! We need to get away from that island as quickly as we can. *since she can't point, she nods at the island in view* I'm serious about covering your ears! [Alar looks about and covers his ears. The rest of the crew is still under the spell though and now go to capture Alar as well.] [Virgil.] * Nasira twitches with a grimace and tries to move her arms, failing utterly. * Virgil , in his own little zone of roaring wind, starts moving the winds to get the ship to STOP going torwards the island. He's purposefully holding back, though, as he doesn't want to destroy the sails, leaving the ship at the mercy of the water. [Virgil gets the right balance of push and pull. The ship slows to a crawl.] [Nasira's turn.] * Nasira takes a shallow breath, then strains and *snaps* the bonds, letting the rope fall uselessly. She growls, faintly, but brings her hands up to cover her ears. * Shan shakes her head. "Nasira, it doesn't work on us!" Sirens only affect men! * Nasira drops her hands and says, forcefully, "Sorry, I couldn't hear you. Hands were in the way." You're fine. Sirens only affect men! * Nasira doesn't respond to Naiya. She glances, catches sight of her knife, and dashes for it. [Shan.] * Shan slides to the side of a sailor and grabs his arm. She swings him over her shoulder, into another sailor coming at her. [The other sailor manages to get out of the way, leaving the first one flat on the deck.] [Virgil. Ship's stopped, island is close, what do you do?] * Virgil tries angling the ship away from the island. A little push here, a little shove there, should make things work nice and dandy. [The ship steers away from the island. Go Virgil.] [Unfortunately, now there's not enough crew to actually direct the sails. Whoops.] [Nasira gets her knife. Nasira's turn. The boat's starting to rock.] * Naiya makes her way belowdecks! There's gotta be an easier way to get those ropes off down there. * Nasira scoops up her knife, giving the area a cursory glance. Her eye focuses on one of the sailors trying to attack Shan and she throws it as a whirlwind of air pushes up from the ground and around her, carrying the blade along. [Naiya doesn't manage to get around the people still in the way. I mean, really now. They trip her up.] [The sailor utterly fails to dodge. The blade cuts him across the middle and he goes down.] * Nasira holds her good hand out and the knife wings back to her. She catches it by the hilt and her eye gleams. "Anyone else want to play?" she asks, voice even. [Apparently they do. Two of the crew rush her!...except one ends up cutting the other. Ouch.] I'm really gonna have to talk to Alar about you guys. [Alar looks up and yells out. "Cease and desist now, you swine! This instant!"] [Alar tries, and manages to disarm the nearest sailor.] [Shan's turn. One left that's really a threat.] * Shan goes for that one, then, driving an elbow into his stomach. "Tyaaaah!" [He keels over from the elbow and goes down!] * Shan lets out a breath. "We need to get this ship turned around. * Shan does say the obvious, yes. * Virgil is helpful! [Virgil is helpful. He manages to pull the ship on a course parallel to the island, instead of into it. You can all get a good look at it on the starboard side. But that will have to wait until next time.] [Session End.]
