[The underwater world looks so pristine and pure. Naiya gets a view of the bottom of the eel now. It's long. Half again the length of the ship. On the end is a filmy tail that looks in the shape of a spade. It doesn't seem to have noticed you though...yet.] [Below Naiya is darkness. There's not even any other fish in the sea that she can see. She'll probably have to go down further though.] * Naiya goes more down, because thats where sunken ships go. She does regret forgetting to keep one of the grendades, though. A light source would have been nice. [Naiya goes down more. Seems she has plenty of air to breath. There's a small reef she's coming down to that illuminates the area. No sign of the ship yet.] * Naiya gets lost in watcing the reef for a moment, not having much more to do than fall. "Such a beautifal sight..." [Below the reef is another ledge down below. Naiya thinks she might see something...not sure. * Naiya drifts that way, even adding a few swimming motions. As much as can be done in such a bulky thing. [Naiya sees what looks like a relatively intact ship if not for the tattered mast and the large breach in its hull. The hull is split from the middle and the whole ship is tipped slightly as it rests on the floor of the ledge.] * Naiya drifts to the ship, conveniently intact, and lit, to boot! She heads to the breach, getting to the hold is probably easier from the breach than the top, especially with a big long lifeline attached. [Naiya gets down to the breach. Something seems off about the ship, but she can't quite put her finger on it.] [The hold seems to be split at the breach, as do a lot of the cabins above. It almost reaches to the top. There's several crates from what she can see, many of them split open. A lot of the crates are carrying different memoriabilia. Different wares, she can't tell from where, mostly plates, some statues made of various metals, and a few crates of ruined clothing and spices.] * Naiya looks for a fancy crate made to hold something valuable. Especially a watertight one. [Naiya manages to find what looks like a shifted panel from the ship going down. Underneath is a dark green colored metal box. It looks intact...] * Naiya digs the box out! Carefully, of course. [Also, looking about, she notices a crack up in the "ceiling" of the hold leading into the crew quarters. The bunks seem a little dishevelled.] * Naiya, after grabbing the box, checks up there, too. The box might be a false lead, and it might REALLY be in the captains or first mates quarters. [Naiya looks around the quarters. And finds....nothing. Well, the thing is. That's remarkable. For a ship that went down, you'd think there'd be corpses.] * Naiya frowns. She's not exactly a regular sea person, but she does know that a lack of a watery grave is odd. "... I'm searching on borrowed time. I need to hurry and get back..." *she readjusts her grip on the green box, casts a final glance about the quarters, then heads outta the boat.* [Naiya heads out of the boat. Does she pull the rope to go back up or is she searching more?] * Naiya tugs the rope, now that she's out. She keeps eyeing the ship, trying to figure out what it is, besides the lack of bodies, that bugs her. ( while waiting. ) [There's no response. They must be real busy.] * Naiya peers up, worried. Can't do much more than that though, so returns her attention to examining the ship in detail. Especially the breach. [The breach looks like it's the work of something REALLY big smashing into the side of the ship.] ( More like another boat, then the Not-Loch-Ness monster? ) (Nope. More like the creature.) ( What flag are they flying, BTW? ) [Naiya can't tell what flag they're flying. The flag is cloth and therefore far too tattered from being sunk.] [More time passes. It's taking awfully long...] * Naiya still has air, so can still wait. She does pass the time by venturing up to the deck of the sunken ship, looking around more, still trying to put her finger on what's off about it. And get a closer look at the flag, too. [Yeah. The deck is definitely devoid of victims. She gets what seems to be the captain's room but it's locked.] ... I wonder what happened. * Naiya sets about trying to get in. Hopefully the structure is weak enough from the impact, or waterlogging, to make in not -too- difficult to open the door, or froce it open. [Naiya doesn't manage to force it in any way shape or form.] Ngg. No good. * Naiya goes looking around some more, then, stopping by the mast to pull the flag down so she can get a nice, close, look at it. Heck, she just grabs the flag, and wraps the box in it. ( The mast DOES have the rope-and-pulley system for raisinfg and lowering the flag, ne? Or is it not invented yet/broken? ) [The ship does indeed have a pulley system. However, the rope has enough algae and such on it and looks rather frayed from creatures eating away at it.] * Naiya tries it, then. Nice and slow. [The rope gets tugged gently. It seems to be holding better than it looked. A few iffy moments but she manages to get it down.] * Naiya takes a close look at it! [The flag looks too tattered to make out in this dim light. Maybe if she takes it aboard. In which case, there's a tugging on the rope when she's ready.] I hope they're okay. That took a while.... * Naiya wraps the box in the flag, and gives a tug in response, after getting into a better position so the lifeline won't catch on anything, like tattered sails or whatnot. ... and I hope this is the right box.
