[Date: Unknown, Time: Unknown.] [It's been a while since our team has seen daylight. And the last light they encountered...wasn't pleasant. After a detour, everyone got back together. The scene last left with Ryan and Ayaka in a corner, trying to make their way through the door. Spider bots are coming, but look, there comes Xiang-Fei rushing down the hall. Everyone else is close behind. What are we going to do?] [Start of File.] * Xiang-Fei is rushing down the hall, both swords drawn! ( Split up! ) ( I thought we did split up :P ) (No. You're close enough that a split up isn't necessary, thank you very much :P) ( Again. =p ) * Akira runs and stumbles after Xiang-Fei... ( Quick guys, go the opposite direction! ) ( Heh. ) * Ayaka resists the urge to yell at Ryan to hurry up and get through the damn door so she can go through. * Aaron races after Xiang-Fei and Akira. * Richard hangs back. What, you'd think he'd not go last? ( snerks. ) * Ryan is completely intent on opening the door, using tweezers to move the tiny wires. Delicate work, here. [Just as Ayaka says that, the door flies open. The manual override must have worked.] [..and it stops halfway opening.] ( AKA the door knob. :P ) * Ayaka whoots inches from Ryan's ear as he does so, having been peering impatiently over his shoulder.. Not that it matters. * Akira runs up to Xiang and the other. "Hey... Where've you guys been?" [Keyoumi is slumped against the wall near the door, unconscious. * Ryan lets out a breath and drops it as the door begins to open. "Okay, go. We have to-" He turns to see the spiders. "Oh, shit." He looks back and sees that it stopped. "Shit!" ( *gasp, breath.* Logs all done. x_x ) ( And I just got a blue screen. >_< ) * Ayaka goes for Key, trying to haul her "Oh shit is right... MOVE!" [The spiders pause for a moment as you rush past. The light on the camera mounted near their heads swivels a bit and it changes from blue to red.] (8) Crawl under the door. Xiang! Move! ( 8 ) * Ayaka starts dragging Key towards the door, waiting for Xiang to crawl though first. ( Under? It opens vertically? ) * Ryan puts his tools away with unusual speed and precision, much like Akira and his rifle. (Yup.) (Yes.) * Akira draws his shotgun as he runs past the spiders, keeping an eye on them... * Xiang-Fei tries to slide under the door. * Ayaka Tries to drag key under the door after Xiang. * Ryan glances up at them and points at the half-open door. "Go!" * Aaron follows Akira past the spiders, also keeping an eye on them. However, to judge from his facial expression, you'd think he was having the time of his life. Everyone under the door! I'll cover you. * Richard follows Aaron. No, he isn't distracted by the spiders. Well, maybe a little bit. * Akira stands beside the door and keeps a close eye on the spiders, aiming in their general direction... [Xiang-Fei tucks and rolls under the door at full run.] [Near the back, the old scientist runs to keep up. He looks at the situation. "Well, great."] * Ayaka drags key under the door at considerably less speed then Xiang. [Ayaka follows soon after, dragging Keyoumi behind her. That's three.] * Xiang-Fei winds up on the otherside of the door! It's only then that she starts to wonder why she had to go first. * Aaron slows down, then tries to slide under the door. * Ryan looks over the panel. (because she gets to catch any nasty robots on the other side first ;) ) ( Because we need someone on both sides that can fight well. ) * Ayaka turns around to glance at what was on this side of the door. keeping a grip under Key's arms. [Two of the spiders try to rush the door. The others seem focused on Akira and Ryan.] * Akira shoots at the ones heading to the door. * Richard 'Erk!'s, eyeing the spiders advancing, and him still not beyond the door yet. o.o * Aaron stands up once he's on the other side of the door, then draws his pistol and turns around. [Aaron slips under the door just before the shot goes off. The spiders are chasing.] [One of the spiders is under the door before the shot goes off. The other one tries to leap above the shot but is hit out of midair. Two of its legs seem damaged.] * Xiang-Fei attacks the spider! [This side: Spid4, Akira/Ryan/Richard, Spid5, Spid6/Spid8, Spid3/Spid7] [Other side (after this round) Xiang-Fei, Spid1, Aaron, Spid2 (damaged)] * Xiang-Fei jams both swords downwards into the spider as it scurries through. [Xiang-Fei's swords jam into the ground. It leaps to the side, avoiding one of the swords but getting the other on the legs, which chops off three of them. It wobbles a bit.] [The next spider glows hot as it fires a beam at Akira.] [Akira feels a burning sensation as the beam tears through his shoulder. There's some smoldering on his clothing where the beam passed.] [Ryan's turn.] Godsdammit! Not my jacket *again*! * Richard 's eyes shine through his glasses. Is that a grin? * Akira holds his shoulder and winces. "I'm starting to get sick of lasers..." ( Richard's gonna get killed by a renegade website ;_; ) (He's going to be digitized and eaten by PacMan) ( Aw. But laser-firing spider is CYUUUTE! ) ( Then let it shoot *you*. ) * Ryan pulls on the panel a little more, giving the back the shortest of cursory glances before yelling to Richard and Akira, "Get under the fucking door! I'll take care of this!" (Held action.) [Akira's turn.] Make sure you can get under too! Just go! * Akira fires at the closest spider and dives for the door! [The spider leaps out of the way of the shot and clings to the wall. Unfortunately two others that were by it get blasted by the shot. In the commotion, Akira slides underneath the door.] [Richard's turn.] * Richard goes on under the door! * Akira rolls out of the doorway and too his feet once he gets through... [Richard crawls underneath the door, followed by the old man. The only one left on that side is poor Ryan now.] (Can I use my held action? Please? @_@) ( Don't hurry, don't rush, don't panic. Then you won't mess up. ;p ) ( Heh. ) [Ryan's turn!] ( There better be something good in this room. It took us an hour to get inside it. ) ( Safety from spiders? ) * Ryan kicks his toolbox under the door and *yanks* on the panel, pulling a mess of attached wires with it. He tries to crawl/slide under the door with the panel in hand. [Ryan slips underneath the door to join the rest.] ( Woohoo! ) ( *whoots* ) (Yay! We have all gotten under the door!) * Richard eyes the wires, and starts looking for something on this side to shut it. * Ayaka Watches Ryan do his thing raptly.. * Akira aims at the space under the door, waiting for something to come through... * Aaron keeps his pistol out, just in case some of the spiders try getting through. [One of the spiders closest tries to leap through the space between the door.] ( Who can fire? ) (Aaron.) * Aaron does so! [Aaron shoots the bot out of midair. It goes falling back and gets back on its feet, trying to head for the door again. [The rest you can hear moving forward, but they still haven't made it to the door.] * Xiang-Fei pulls her swords out of the ground? * Richard continues looking for a way to shut the door from this side. >_> * Akira squats down so he can aim under the door. "Dammit, Ryan! Get the door closed!" * Ayaka keeps watching Ryan try to shut the door. Its so damn facinating.. * Ryan reaches into his pocket with his free hand and, not bothering to get up off the floor, pulls out a pair of wire cutters. He selects a wire out of the mess and snips it. [The door doesn't do anything for a second. Then there's a buzz and it flies to the ground. There's a metallic thunk on the other side as one of the spiders tries to jump through and hits the door.] * Ayaka shakes her head a bit and looks around where they are. Huh... * Aaron smiles. "Gotcha." [The last spider that got through ticks its legs but can't seem to move properly to aim.] * Akira flops to the ground and pants. "Whew." * Richard eye's light up, spotting the helpess spider. **_ ( laughs! ) * Ryan drops the panel and the cutters and falls backwards. "" he gasps in English. You know, they probably can track us by the amount of circuitry we're cutting and breaking. * Aaron puts away his pistol, then reaches down to give Ryan a hand up. "Nice work." If the spiders don't give us away first.... Nah. They no send enough guards to follow us. You have a better idea, Richard. * Richard kneels down, and takes a closer look at the spider. Not yet. Then shut up. [Now that the heat of combat is over, all of you (yes, even Ryan) can hear the roaring of rushing water. You seem to be in a cavern, though the walls are carved too perfectly to be made by nature. Over the edge is a steady stream of cascading water, a ladder heading down to the lower level. It seems you're situated on the top of a large dam.] I wonder how far underground we are. * Ryan moves to lie on one side and to look at the spider, too. He pushes himself to his feet and walks over to it, carefully staying out of whatever area it might be able to hit. Pretty far? * Akira nods and slowly gets to his feet, wincing as he pulls on his shoulder... ... and if we can destroy this place by messing up the dam. Wow... We're a bit of a ways up... [Down below are a few things floating in the water that you can't quite make out, but might be crafts. There seems to be a distant light, but faint off the waterfall side.] * Aaron doesn't seem all that bothered that Ryan ignored him. He takes a good look at his surroundings. "Well, now. This is impressive." * Ayaka moves away from the edge of the water and the drop and for sure NOT looking down off off it. The spider looks interesting.. yep. * Richard tries to idntify the various parts of the spider. Specifically, if the laser is detachable, and if there's any communications equipment on it. * Xiang-Fei peers down over the side of the dam. "Ooooh..." * Ayaka peers down at the spider, watching Richard mess with it "Why lasers? Why can't they build machine guns into these darn things?" * Akira puts his shotgun away and pulls his rifle around off his back, looking through the sight at the specks down below... To show off? Who knows. Lasers are probably quiter, and less ammo upkeep, too. (Hey, is someone still carrying the binoculars?) (Noooot me.) Hey, Ryan. Can you see any kind of antenna or comm array or something on it? I wanna know for sure if it's spying on us, and if we can track it. ( Not me ) ( i can't remember... :P ) ( SOMEONE has them.. whoever used them last likely ) ( I have a telephoto sight on my sniper rifle. ) * Xiang-Fei points at the ladder and looks at the others. "Maybe try go down?" ( Telephoto! It takes pictures and makes phonecalls! ) * Ryan glances up at Richard. "I'm sorry, what?" * Richard sighs, and deflates a little. "Never mind." ( Hush. I can't remember the correct name for it. >_< ) * Aaron pulls the binoculars out from inside his jacket, and peers down at the possible crafts, then the light. (Apparently, *I* had the binoculars. ^_^) [Aaron sees three crafts. Two speed boats and one seaplane.] [Akira sees the same, if he's looking at the same stuff.] ... I can't make heads or tails of it, myself. ( Do I see any movement? ) * Xiang-Fei points at the camera part. "I think that head." * Richard blinks at Xiang-Fei. * Xiang-Fei points the the back end of the spider. "That where tail be, but it no have one." Oh, joke. Heh. * Ayaka blinks oddly at the spider, shakes her head and gives up, wandering over by Aaron and Akira "See anything interesting?" * Ryan peers at the spider and pokes at it a bit. "Just stay out if its line of fire." [Akira sees movement! Lots of movement! Agh! Oh wait, it's just the motion of the waves moving the boats.] Yeah. Two speed boats and a seaplane... * Aaron switches to looking at the light, if the light isn't near the crafts. Votes for breaking it and taking it back to study, and votes for breaking it and tossing it into the water? It has a sensor. But... [The light seems to be natural light. The forest tops can be seen just on the edge of the binoculars' range.] * Aaron puts the binoculars away. "We're very high up, it seems. Akira, did you see anything below besides the three crafts?" ( Boat driver said to point out spots like that, didn't he? ) ( Votes for selling it on e-bay? ) If we can get down to that plane, I can fly us out of here. * Ayaka twitches her head to look at Akira "Excuse me?" * Akira shakes his head. "No. That's it.' * Xiang-Fei points. "There ladder over there." Does the ladder go all the way? I'd hope it does. What about the boats? * Akira smiles at Ayaka. "I said, I can fly us out of here." * Ryan nudges the spider over and kneels, dragging his tools almost as an afterthought. He carefully pries part of the spider open and starts to rearrange its insides. And then he removes something; looks rather like a battery. "It's off now." Thats what I thought you said........ [There's another bang at the door. And some cursing on the other side.] * Aaron smiles, although for once it seems a bit forced. "Are you sure about that?" * Ayaka looks way less then thrilled. ... can you set it to attack anything that moves, leave it here, and we scat? Oh dear. We'd better get moving. Or I could take a crack at it. Down! Everyone down the ladder! That'd take a little more time. And... Yeah. Too long... * Ryan glances up at Akira. "We'd better go." He stuffs the spider in the case, along with the battery, and moves it to the ladder. * Aaron heads to the ladder and starts climbing down. * Richard heads to the ladder! Funny, he's not waiting this time. Akira.. Can't we just take a boat? * Richard heads on down, after getting to it, casting a final glance at the door. * Xiang-Fei hurries down the ladder. * Akira keeps watch on the door, then blinks, pulling out the stunner and grinning... * Ayaka sighs deeply and starts heading down the ladder, holding tightly to the sides and not looking down * Aaron sighs. "If our pilot's an airplane pilot, then I suppose we don't have much of a choice." We could swim? * Aaron smirks, though Ayaka can't see it. "All the way back?" * Ayaka smiles weakly. And keeps a white knuckled grip on the ladder on her way down. Exersize is good for you.. Didn't you hear? Oh, yes. But I think we've gotten more than enough today. * Akira walks over to the metal door and lays his hand along it, feeling for vibrations... Still... perhaps I should look into boating lessons once we get back. What about the boat that broought us here? We maybe get Ryan do it? He do mechanical stuff like that. ( Can I feel anything through the door? Like someone working on it? ) I doubt we have time to call him around here, though someone should probably warn him. * Ryan doesn't respond to his name being said. He just climbs. ( He didn't say no! ) * Ayaka tries to think about something else. Send the boats on autopliot out anyways. Distraction. [There's another slam against it, then some talk. There's a silence after a while.] * Akira grins when he feels the slam, pressing the stunner against the metal and activating it for a few seconds. [Keyoumi leans against the railing, still unconscious. Yesh.] ( Hm. How high up are we? Too high to dive safely? ) * Ryan blinks and glances down, then up. Stupid Richard started climbing after him. "Get Keyoumi, Akira!" he calls up. ( You try it and find out if it's safe, ok? ) ( dive? :P ) (It's not height so much as do you know how deep the water is? :P) * Richard passes it along. "Get Key!" * Ayaka blinks and yells upwards "Get Key!!" ( It's only one foot deep. Why do you think the boats are still here? They can't leave. ) * Akira nods as he slips the stunner back under his jacket, lifting Key over his unhurt shoulder and carefully makes his way down... * Ayaka cringes mentally for forgetting. * Xiang-Fei ... doesn't bother to say anything. [Ryan manages to land on the docks before. Metal-laced grating with a railing.] * Aaron keeps on climbing down. He's quiet now. Something must be wrong. * Ayaka takes goes slow and steady down the ladder. Thats the way to go. * Ryan walks forward and away from the ladder a bit, looking around. * Akira carefully--but quickly--makes his way down the ladder... [The old man makes his way down last. The silence is replaced by a sizzling sound up above.] * Richard lands a bit heavily after Ryan. And looks around. * Ayaka climbs down ALL the rungs and steps off the ladder.. ooooh horizontal surfaces.. Joy! * Akira hits the dock breathing heavily, looking around... * Richard can't resist, and points out the plane to Ayaka. "Looking forward to the trip?" * Ayaka gives Richard a dirty look. * Ryan goes to check on Keyoumi once Akira gets here. He glances up at the old man and blinks, probably noticing him for the first time. "Who's your friend?" Are you looking forwards to learning to skydive Richard? * Aaron , for one brief second, gives Richard an incredibly intense glare, although most likely no one was looking in his direction. * Richard merely grins, and adjusts his glasses. [Akira sees: water, more water, more dock, plane, cool boats, rock face, people.] [The people, of course, being his group.] * Xiang-Fei gets off the ladder as soon as she can, drawing her swords just in case. Ah. This is... well, when we fell down the pit, we met this gentleman here. * Akira hands Key off to Ryan, and starts making his way to the plane. "Let's go. I hope they left the keys in it..." * Ayaka smiles back almost maliciously. * OldMan looks Ryan over but doesn't respond. He'd been trapped in a cell for quite some time, and we, being the good, generous souls that we are, aided him. ( OldMan: "I'm older than you! Ha!" ) And... we're no closer to G-Trigger. Are we? * Ayaka shakes her head and paces a bit.. Looking everywhere but the plane. We did find Keyoumi... * OldMan turns towards Richard and gives him an odd look. "What'd you say...?" * Ryan glances at people as they talk. "Aye. It's not a total wash." He checks her vitals. Who care? No want be on stupid fake island now. * Richard looks at the old man. "Don't tell me.... You know about G-trigger." * Ayaka fishes in her purse to check that she has her motion sickness tablets.. It..sounds familiar. You can't remember you're own name, yet that sounds familiar. It figures. * Richard facepalms. Wait.. * OldMan rubs his head. "Gah..I thought I had it..." * Aaron smiles comfortingly at the old man. "It's all right. Give it time, and don't worry about it now. We need to go." * Xiang-Fei scratches her head beneath her headband. She nods to Aaron. "We go now." There was..someone else on it. He had...a daughter. She came in from time to time to see his work..." Score another one for dumb luck and coincedence. Yay. * OldMan looks up at the door. "...yeah." * Ayaka glances at the old man and blinks thoughtfully. * Akira is over checking out the plane to make sure it's fly-worthy... * Aaron nods, filing the information away. Every little bit is useful! * Keyoumi lets out a slight breath and starts to open her eyes. They still look somewhat weak. * Xiang-Fei looks around a bit. [The plane is, indeed, fly-worthy. And will be cramped but can probably fit everyone.] * Ryan waves his hand in front of her eyes. "Senada-san. How are you feeling?" Keyoumi. *blinkblink* * Keyoumi 's mouth open and closes like a fish but no words come out. * Keyoumi winces slightly and tries to pick herself up, faltering. * Ryan helps her up. "We're getting out of here." He looks at the old man. "Anything you want done before we leave?" Take picture? * OldMan keeps an eye on the door then looks back to Ryan. "Nothin' that could get done before they break through." Blow up the dam? Then we'll have to come back sometime. Sadly, I've left my camera at home. Blowing up something or flooding there base or screwing up their anti- satellite systems would all be nice gifts to leave. All aboard! Air Get-The-Fuck-Out-Of-Here is *now* leaving! * Ryan helps Keyoumi to the plane. "Someone contact the driver." That I shall do. * Ayaka glances at Akira grimly "Yeah... Coming." doesn't rush. * Aaron contacts the boat driver via headset as he heads toward the plane. Slowly. * Richard gets on in. Currently it's his favorite airline. * Keyoumi gets helped. * Ayaka strolls beside Aaron towards the plane [While everyone has their attention, there's a slight explosion from up above. The lasers seem to blast through the door and the other end of the door goes flying off and lands on the other side of the dam in the water.] That'd be them busting through... Everyone in?! * Aaron finishes contacting the boat driver quickly, warning him to be really careful. "All right. I'm moving!" He hurries toward the plane. * Ayaka glances up above and frowns "Yep it would be" [Xiang-Fei notes that it took about 4.3 lasers to bust through, because she's good like that.] * Ayaka hurries too.. ( snickers. ) * Ryan grimaces and climbs into the co-pilot's seat, checking for keys. (I am impressed. ^_^) * OldMan scrambles in. * Xiang-Fei looks up that-away for a minute and calculates the number of lasers it took to do that until Akira says what he did, then hurries onto the plane. * Ayaka hesitently climbs into the plane, squishes into the back and looks pessimistic.. "I dont' wanna die today.." No worry! They far away! [Everyone is rather squished in the back actually.] * Ayaka swallows "I wasn't talking about them.." * Aaron climbs into the plane, squishes himself in, and takes a deep breath. * Richard dosen't look happy about being squished. All in? [Ryan finds no keys.] * Ayaka looks around the plane for barf bags.. hey.. you never know. * Xiang-Fei blinks. "Me no talk about them either. We all on plane. None of us try kill them." * Ayaka puts her head in her hands and looks down "Nevermind.." We going? * Xiang-Fei blinks twice and scratches her head beneath her headband again. * Ryan curses and, not even asking Akira if he's ready, looks for the cable leading from the ignition and starts trying to hotwire the thing. [The interior of the plane has a long seat in the back and two seats up front before the control panels. There's a tool box behind the back seat.] Hm. What are the chances of the plane getting shot down, or it blowing up as soon as it starts? Shut *UP*, Richard! * Aaron mutters, "About the chances of someone shoving you out the window." * Richard grins again. Those no good odds... Too crowded... * Ayaka glances sideways at Aaron and smiles faintly "I think we can manage it. You get the window. I'll get him.. " * Akira watches Ryan. "Try the other wire. The blue one." ( No, cut the red one! The red one! ) [It takes a bit of going, but sparks start from the wires and the props slowly start to move. Just as a couple of shots come from above.] * Aaron smiles back at Ayaka. "It's rather tempting, I must say." * Ayaka nods and twitches as the engine starts, listening for funny noises. * Richard raises his eyebrows at Aaron. But dosen't say anything. * Akira slowly gasses the engines so they don't stall... "Y'all did cut us loose, right?" * Ryan grimaces, but gets out of Akira's space. "Go." Cut what? * Keyoumi steadies herself on the seat backing as the plane starts to move. Oh... Great. The line holding the plane to the dock... * Ayaka huddles in the seat with her arms folded across her and sighs, looking over at Aaron again "Then again.. If we throw him out.. Who's going to catch the spray if we lose our lunch?" Just open the door and cut the ropes! now! * Richard heads out to undo that. You may get your wish... * Xiang-Fei opens the door and hops out, slashing at the ropes. We'll figure something out. ( You should just be able to lean out and cut them... >_> ) * OldMan pulls Richard back. "They're shooting, you idiot." Someone's gotta do ... she's doing it. Nevermind. And I know they're shooting! [The line falls away, the last thing connecting you to the docks.] * Xiang-Fei sheathes her swords and hops back in once that's done! * Richard closes the door after XF. * Akira waits for Xiang-Fei to get mostly back in and slams the throttles forward! * Aaron keeps his eyes fixed on the back of the seat in front of him. * Ayaka jerks back in her seat, goes pale and clings to the seat with her hands for dear life "......." [The prop engine sputters for a moment. There's a ping as a bullet reflects off the back of the plane. The propellers kick it into high gear and the plane starts to skim across the water. The sound of rushing water gets louder as you go forward.] * Ryan braces himself. "A waterfall?" ( Oh, they were firing door-opening lasers before. They switched to bullets now :P ) * Akira begins grinning wildly... ( Yeah. I thought a laser was gonna hole the fuel tanks and we all go boom. ) (There's a range on the lasers. Besides, you think the cursing was just for show? :P) * Ayaka swallows a whimper and clings to the seat.. * Aaron clenches his fists tightly and keeps staring at the seat in front of him. Here we go. Full speed ahead, no turning back. We are OUTTA HERE! ( I'm disappointed. Akira didn't check the plane for a bomb. ) [As you pull closer to the opening, the treetops seem to drop further below. The water's rushing over the edge out of a cliffface.] * Akira grins like a demon as they head for the falls... ( what makes you think he didnt' while he was checking the engine? :P ) * Richard cranes around to get a better view out the front window. * Ayaka squeezes her eyes tightly shut "Someone tell me when its over.." ( He didn't say he was. ) * Ryan blinks, then grins, too. Here we go. * Xiang-Fei nods to Ayaka. "Okay!" * Richard waits until just before we clear the waterfall. "It's over!" [Off the falls they go, coasting straight for a bit, dipping a little with gravity before lift takes over and takes them over the treetops of the valley out the other side of the mountain.] * Aaron tries very, very hard not to react when he feels the plane dip a bit. He mostly succeeds. * Ayaka keeps her eyes shut.. bastard Richard.. * Ryan just grins. He glances at Akira and loses the smile a little. "Akira, I just realized. We don't want to go straight back." Yaaaaaaaaaaaaahhoooooooooo!!!! * Ayaka yips when the plane drops and cringes. [Everyone who made it notices the side of the mountain sliding open that can be seen out the side window. Mounted inside are what looks to be a pair of guns.] Turrets! * Akira looks at Ryan. "We don't want to head back to Japan?" * Ryan makes a cutting motion. "It might be bugged. We need to check-" He glances out the window. "Damnit, not again!" * Akira blinks. "Oh, shite. Triple-A!" Aw, hell. I -knew- there were going to be turrets! TURRETS!!? They're WHAT?! * OldMan pats Ayaka on the shoulder. "Just keep your eyes closed. It's better that way." * Ayaka 's eyes fly open, all the rest of the colour draining from her face.. "Oh.. shit.. We *are* all going to die.." Gun emplacements that shoot down stuff. * Aaron looks, for the first time since the group has met him, actually nervous. What'dya think they are? * Xiang-Fei looks down out the window at the groud. She squints. "No see animals..." * Akira banks the plane hard and dives for the treeline... And don't think we're gonna die until we do. * Ayaka shuts her eyes again quickly.. mumbling something about them all dying again... [Akira jinx the plane just as the guns fire.
